As I've been looking back and trying to put pieces together, one constant thread is there. If it don't have a purpose, I can't do it.

Even my special interests serve a purpose.

How about you?

I was not preordained with a purpose in life. I have no reason to exist--except that my mother and father conceived me.

My purpose is to make others and myself happy. It's pretty simple. Perhaps too simple.

It´s pretty important. Otherwise, why waste energy/engagement on it?

Purpose is just an illusion, a human invention. All I'm doing is trying to persuade myself that the illusion is real for a while in order to find motivation.

In terms of motivation for a specific task? I have no motivation at all for tasks that I can't place into a wider system. I'm like a kid that never grew out of constantly asking, "But, why?".

In more general terms. I try (not always successfully!) to take Kraftiekortie's attitude - to aim for greater happiness and satisfaction in my life, and to do what little I can to encourage and facilitate the same for the people around me.

Or maybe, as I was once told, my purpose is simply to serve as an example to others of "how not to do it"!

I usually just dont care, really.

My interests/hobbies are generally just for my own enjoyment. As for actual productive things.... other people can do those much, much better than I can. And I dont need a job or something anyway, I'd feel bad about taking up a job slot that someone who DOES need it could have. Besides, I'd manage to just screw it up in the end.
