when i talk to myself i do it like im 2 people. for example after i watch a movie i ask myself "what do you think of the movie" and i'll say to myself "i liked it i hope they have a sequel" then it will turn to a conversation about the movie with the 2 me. i probably do this 95 percent of the day its sometimes do it in my head but i'll sometimes do it under my breath.

i know this a dumb question but does anyone else does do this and does it have to do with AS?

Nope, I only talk to one of me, unless I am imagining having a chat with someone I know/want to know.

I think talking aloud is an AS thing, but not necessarily talking like you're two people. Sometimes I imagine myself talking to someone else, but the other person is in my head and the only words that come out of my mouth are spoken by me.

they tippy toe around on that forum, but you might meet some folks that have a 'co-morbidity'
all my other inner personas have AS, too, so they don't get along too well.

I often ramble on to myself about something I'm interested in, and will kind of pretend that someone else is asking questions-probably to keep the "conversation" going so I can keep babbling about it

I also have "conversations" with other people that way, where I'm playing their part in my head. It can go on for quite a while sometimes, and is almost always a positive experience...I guess I know what to say when I'm playing all the parts!

I chant to myself when I'm upset. I don't make conversation.

I chant to myself when I have to remember to go to the bathroom, so I don't forget any crutial points. I chant when I am in the grocery store and am starting to freak out at the noise or lights or people or choices, etc.
When things 'take too long' at a store or waiting in a line, etc, I chant just to keep from leaving before I get what I came for. It doesn't always work, I am notorious for going somewhere and only getting half of what I wanted simply because I couldn't stand being there any more.

i talk t myself, but it is more of a thinking out loud thing. sometimes i feel like i havent completed the thought unless i have said it out loud to myself. talking to myself is the best way i have of figuring out a problem and it works for me. too bad it drives my husband nuts!

I often split my talking to myself up into a conversation of sorts, too. Especially when I'm trying to make myself move on from a particular subject (Me #1 will be talking about it in some capacity, and Me #2 will react with scorn and tell Me #1 to shut up).

some one that must not be Merle will tell Merle to shut up, (oh, hush up, Merle!) or will say "great goin' Merle, that was a smooth move" when it wasn't a smooth move at all!
or "stop the car Merle, you are gonna melt down and I don't want you driving!" that sort of thing.
Wonder who it is, never thought of it before. Hey, wait a minute, is it the person that is typing these words? Nope, cause she just told Merle to sign my name and post it.
