Do your sensory issues get worse when you've just woken up?
Anyone else?
Do they get worse when you've just woken up? Are there any other specific moments they get worse?
I noticed they also get worse when I'm generally tired, but that might just be me. Some days I can handle most things, other days I can't. I guess it depends on the amount of sleep and other personal physical and mental conditions?
When I wake up, my ears seem to be extremely sensitive like everything hurts.....

Yep, when I've just woken up or haven't had enough sleep are when my sensory issues are the worst. Some mornings they're so bad that I can't even speak, because hearing and feeling my own voice, as well feeling the delicate, complex, precise movements my tongue has to make in order to produce speech, are too overwhelming to deal with.
When I'm tired, my auditory sensitivity is significantly exacerbated as well, which is a problem because it's already my worst sensory issue. I also get more easily overwhelmed and frustrated by sound overload, and need to find a dark, silent space where I can regroup, otherwise I start getting nasty with people, and move into the realm of self-harm/meltdowns.

Well I don't have sensory issues but I have issues with random intrusive thoughts and music blasting in my head. When I wake up it is best since I am still tired, and also when I am sleepy it is great too but whenever I am awake it is worst.

I want to apologize to the entire forum. I have been a terrible person, very harsh and critical.
I still hold many of my views, but I will tone down my anger and stop being so bigoted and judgmental. I can't possibly know how you see things and will stop thinking I know everything you all think.

Yes. Especially when I didn't get enough sleep or slept too long.
In the mornings I often have trouble wearing socks because they feel too tight and basically every single issue I have with clothing worsens. I will also have trouble speaking and thinking and I will hear every sound. Vacuum cleaner in Saturday morning is the worst. I experienced meltdown because of that before.
I am on my best during the afternoon and evening. It might go worse around bed time but only if I experienced sensory overload along the way or there is something preventing me from sleep (such as mosquito, too warm weather, some smell, TV downstairs etc). But in the last case it is more like waking up. I am comfortable in my bed, trying to fall sleep, knowing I have to get up in the morning, I might even already be sleeping... and then I hear buzzzzzzzzz.
It's the worst.
My sensory issues also get worse during and after sensory or emotional overload. Once I experience it is takes from a few hours to a few days of alone time to get back to norm and within that time my senses are really sensitive and I am irritable and crying easily.

I wouldn't say so much that it's my sensory issues that are worse in the morning, but I do find that I have brain fog for hours in the morning, even after my coffee. If anything I'm just even less able to be social in the morning for a long time, after which I get back some functioning.
My sensory issues are worse at any time when I'm just over-tired, overwhelmed, upset, and it's also hard to know which came first.
Omg the mosquito in my ear! It happened so many times! Everytime it happens I startle, jump, swear, cover my ears in pain and if there's someone else in the room they always ask me what happened.
The physical pain I feel when a mosquito does this is unexplainable, but I'm sure you understand. When I tell people they think I'm crazy or overreacting. It gives me the chills!
I have a brain fog until the evening comes. In the evening, this fog slowly disappears, just to come back when I feel sleepy.
I have trouble wearing socks too, and speaking and thinking or even just listening to people when I wake up. I get irritable because everything is super amplified more than usual.
The worst part is when people say I'm overreacting or being weird
I wish they could experience sensory issues for one day so they'd understand....
