I have been treated and soon will be cured, with my own consent. It is an experimental treatment, so I am not allowed to give specifics.

I thought autism made me smart and that's why I liked it. But when I failed some classes, looking for evidence of this correlation, I could not find much solid evidence. So wanting a future, I decided to look for a treatment.

I mostly enjoyed the treatment, because now I am more mentally flexible and productive over the long term. The one downside is that now, I don't feel like a know-it-all anymore, and in fact feel mentally insecure against the infinite mysteries of the universe, but I think that is a good thing in the end.

:wall: If you haven't signed a non-disclosure agreement, of course you can!! ! Maybe because you're in on the ground floor you can get some of the IP rights. That'd be swell. :wall:

How will you know you're cured?

I have to wait for the preliminary stages to kick in first. Then we will know.

I hope the OP's not trying to pull a fast one on us.

Mod note: good spot, Kraftie!

By what, specifically, will you measure that you're cured?

Don't get too worked up, I've had "treatments" before and they're mostly all bullsh!t.

I don't think I'd want 'cured'. Who knows what other disorders would appear if I was cured...could by anything. I don't think there is a cure though, only ways of managing it.

I think that autism is a catch-all term for a variety of disorders which, in the future, I think will be more specific and people won't be diagnosed with autism as such but will be diagnosed with different disorders. Then there might be something that can be done about it as each disorder can be addressed on it's own.

What does the "experimental treatment" involve?

Very pertinent question!

He hasn't mentioned anything about what the "treatment" consists of.

No. Just... no.

If I hear one more thing about people being "treated" or "cured" of autism, I swear I am going to scream until my vocal snap like rubber bands. Quack doctor pseudoscience snake oil steaming pile of male bovine droppings.
