Does anyone else hate change (not the money kind)?

Greetings, fellow Aspies!
I've been going through some anxiety lately about this situation I'm in at Grasmere Place where I live. You see, my roommate has lice and staff there are saying that I have to move to a different room. I really don't want to because I'm comfortable in my own room with the TV (I love watching TV). I have a routine that I go through every day and when that's disrupted, I get very upset; to the point of throwing a tantrum. So yesterday, staff is trying to tell me that I have to go to another room. I said "no" and they said that they can't force me to do something I don't want to do. Was I being unreasonable?

I don't think you are being unreasonable, personally. I understand. It sounds just like you don't want to leave the place that is your home and safe place. I wouldn't want to either.

I can understand you not wanting to leave your safe place and routines that comfort you. Sometimes we have to do things that are necessary no matter how bad it makes us feel. I understand that change will bring unwanted anxiety.

I like change and learning to do new things, especially those nobody (including me not so long ago) believed I could ever do. The thing that drives me crazy is when people constantly change their minds and can't commit to anything. Change is fine; indecision drives me mad.

Adapting to a new location is not pleasant, especially if it's a downgrade from the old one. Sometimes it helps if you can carry over parts of your routine to the new place. It sounds like you'll be 100% at one spot or the other, so that could take some getting used to.

You might have sounded unreasonable from their perspective, but not to anyone who understands yours.
