Hi!
I'm new here and new to ASD (waiting for assessment) with suspected Aspergers.
I was wondering whether my inability to communicate my needs might be related to ASD?
When it comes to talking about my feelings I become anxious to the point of becoming mute. I find it practically impossible to accurately name or describe my emotions. It makes me feel awful (maybe anxiety?) which then leads to aforementioned mutism. This fear of becoming mute as I try to explain is keeping me from asking for help that I desperately need. Is it an Aspergers thing?

This is something I have on a very frequent basis. It is a clear disability for me. Having difficulty expressing needs is a criteria in autism types.

This is a common problem for men. I started off by looking through a long list of feelings for a match when I needed a desciptor. You may also have had a parent who told you your feelings were "wrong." That one is covered in the preamble to Adult Children Anonymous meetings.
