Diagnosed with ADHD, still think I have Autism

I've recently been diagnosed with ADHS, which does explain a lot of my problems. However, it doesn't explain a lot problems as well.

I'm wondering whether it's because I just have become too adept at emulating behavior and too proficient at guessing people's moods and thoughts.

I still often have no idea how to interpret facial expressions, especially the ones closer to neutral/not as obvious. I often say things others take offense to often without realizing, unless they say so or give an unmistakable look. My eye contact varies between conplete avoidance and staring, depending on my mood.

I'm currently hospitalized and the patients in my ward frequently change which stresses me out to no end. People I found likable have left and only people remain I don't really...appreciate. This makes me extremely uncomfortable.

Since I share the room with 2 others I can't really retreat, which stresses me out even more. The doctors and psychs here make me feel very uncomfortable. Problem is I'm not really showing what I feel, too well trained. It just feels like too much to me.

I don't *want* the diagnosis, but I have a feeling that the ADHS diagnosis is just gonna lead down a treatment path that will in the long run not make my situation better. I fear it will just lead down the same path I've been down plenty of times.

I obviously don't have a severe form of ASD, but I just can't exclude the possibility yet. Biggest issue is the one year (!) wait for the assessment. My relatively old age for a proper diagnosis makes it even more difficult.

Again, I'm not dead set on an ASD diagnosis, it just fits so well from what I've researched and read in this forum. My guess would be PDA...

Uh...I guess I'm just asking for opinions or possibly help to make sure myself....somehow.

A lot of symptoms of autism overlaps with most mental illnesses and other developmental disorders, so..it wouldn't come as a surprise to check out autism if you have any of these so called comorbids. In fact the possibility of having both autism and ADHD is quite common at least based on my limited research. IMHO I really don't see autism itself as the problem, but the comorbid conditions that often accompanies it. By the way what are you hospitalized for?

I don't have a diagnosis for the hospitilization, arrived here a week ago. My doctor ordered it for severe anxiety and depression (and absolute inability to manage my life).

I have ADHD and autism. Having ADHD with another disorder or mental illness is common nowadays.
