I'm sick and tired of having to give Meter readings, finding the serial number, the serial number given on letters sent out being confusing or inaccurate.

Everything is too complicated. I wish everyone could just produce their own energy, or all done locally town by town. That way it wouldn't be so bureaucratic and involve so many letters and phone calls and bank account checking.

Anyone agree?

I simply find a knock on the door from anyone I'm not expecting annoying, the meter readers are a pain in the arse. Your better just asking them to fit a smart meter.

I'm with the energy company I am because of the ease of a smart meter. Nobody has to manually read the meter, they can see it remotely!

See if you can get a smart meter.

I'm with SSE, I find their bills clear and pay on direct debit. They come and read the meters for gas and electric outside. I have decided not to have a smart meter because they would have to come in the house which I am obsessive about (contamination) but I think by law your provider has to offer you a smart meter.

It's okay now. It was confusion created by an example serial number being given in the letter. The letter stated "Your serial number will look like this: HA123456" so I was worried something head gone awfully wrong because nonmeter on my block of apartments had that serial number. Their wording in the letter wasn't clear. I gave them that feedback over the phone and a friendly woman said she would pass it on to the managers.
