Lately my wrists have been hurting. I'm wondering if flapping my hands is causing the pain. I had a dream where a woman told me to stop flapping my hands and at first I was offended, and then she grabbed my wrist and held it straight. I found it comforting, and now I sometimes hold my wrist with my other hand.

I'm a gymnast, an athlete, so I don't want to ruin my hands (also, maybe I am stretching my wrists too much during training, or maybe my wrist muscles are sore?). I'm not sure so I'm running it by here. :)

whether as victor or vanquished, isn't it better than sullen resignation?

Are your forearm muscles tight? Do you do wrist warm ups prior to exercise?

My left wrist is so bad----that I can't even "flap" it if I wanted to.

Hand-flapping does seem to be put strain on wrists.

if you have to flap, do it with something that flaps for you while your arms/wrists remain mostly stationary. anything with moving parts wears out eventually, that includes human body parts that have no real replacements on the shelf.
