If you were to write a TV show about Autism or even your own experience what sort of genre of TV show would you do would it be Drama, Soap Opera, Sitcom, Comedy Drama I personally would go for Comedy Drama, meaning I would go for Drama with the humour added in.

I would say comedy-drama as well, so it could cover serious subjects but also be light-hearted. Except, I would like the humour not to be at the autistic characters' expense, but to come from them and their perspective on the world.

I think there may be an opportunity for a dedicated children's show and/or animated series that centers around AS characters. It should feature humor, but in an "organic" way while dealing with real issues.

I would make it something really similar to Monty Python or Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.

I'd probably go the comedy/drama route, I like watching programs that are equal parts serious and silly, a little like Criminal Minds. I would want the focus to be on an adult female autistic who has more severe autism; can't live alone, communicates mostly with sign or AAC, has obsessions but not savant syndrome or abnormal levels of "giftedness". All of the autism portrayals these days (apart from Sesame Street, which I love for this reason) are of white, level 1 males. I'd like to show people that autism affects females too, and that it's not all as easy as these "high functioning" characters make it appear.
