Autistic boy who helped medics treat his unwell mother will be awarded

A five-year-old boy with autism who guided paramedics to his unconscious mother will be given a bravery certificate by the ambulance service.

Tyler Semple and his sister, Annabella, will be visiting the East of England Ambulance Service’s Emergency Operations Centre at Chelmsford this Wednesday to receive the award.

They will meet the call handlers and ambulance crew members who helped when their mother collapsed.

Charley-Anne Semple, 27, was at home in Thurrock, with her two children when she lost consciousness on September 21.

Tyler dialled 999 and guided paramedics to his home.

Tyler has been presented with a bravery award by the National Autistic Society charity.

His three-year-old sister, Annabella, who also has autism and was home at the time, was also presented with a bravery award.

How is calling & telling the paramedics where you live bravery :?: It seems to me like those kids are only getting awards because they are autistic whereas regular kids would not be given them. I'd rather get nothing than be awarded something just because of my autism
