Sometimes I think that people aren’t interested in any of my posts. They might not even look at this one. I feel unimportant on this website and I might simply lay my account to rest. I know what kinds of things other autistic people think about, but I think that the reason why people aren’t looking at my posts is because the topics can be repetitive. If that is true, then it is because I have simply run out of ideas and interests to discuss. I’m not depressed, just a little unhappy with my status on WP. And please don’t tell me that I’m too impatient or anything along the lines of that. I have patiently waited for responses, but I feel like I’m not an important part of this community. I might just quit this and move on to more important things. All I want is for somebody on this website to show that my voice is important and not one of those things that sits on the shelf and collects dust. It could be a trust problem preventing me from speaking of new things. Please help me! I would appreciate it!

P.S. This might be my final post, so please help me as soon as possible.

I don't think you have "bad status" on WP. I think it's a matter of "numbers."

Before I had a few hundred posts, I was pretty much ignored here, too.

Even now, with 40,000 posts, I don't get many responses should I start a thread.

Are you interested in autism research? If so, why don't you post a topic about the latest findings.

Warrier, I'm the champion stillborn-thread-creator of WP2017. No thread I start ever thrives. So I comment on other people's threads and have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that no thread I start shall live... apparently it's a law of the universe.

Meanwhile, at least two different people start threads about eating Tide Pods, and they get a billion replies each*. Whaaaaaaaat? but there it is. Aspies are human too, and just as prone to fads as every other human.

Do I like seeing my poor little threads die? No no no no no. But what can I do about it? So I laugh, when I can.

Don't know if this helps any... but weighing in on other folks' threads is very worthwhile, and now and then a few posts veer onto a related topic and everyone gains something additional from it. That can be the best way to connect here, sometimes.

Warrier, I hope you stay around. I'm honestly thinking the same thing Krafty said. It looks like you joined two years ago and you only posted a little over 60 times. I think you need to really be a part of the community by not only starting threads, but also participating and providing some advice in threads. We need your perspective. We need strength in numbers. We need Warrier. We need you!

I've certainly created many, threads that got few to no replies - it happens a lot to all of us. I think it's a bit misleading when you look at the forum index because most of the threads have a lot of replies - looking at the index makes people think that everyone else's posts always get replies.

The fact is, threads that people don't reply to quickly drop off the forum, so nobody sees them. When most of the threads that one creates get little to no replies but one also sees a whole bunch of threads that got 10+ replies, it tends to make one feel like nobody replies to one's threads.

However, I think we're all going through the same thing, and it's disheartening for all of us - we just don't see that it's happening to other people too because the threads with few to no replies tend to drop off the index pretty quickly.

I don't really have any good advice for you on how to create threads that get more replies, because I frankly don't know how myself. I can tell you that I don't think it's because people think you're unimportant.

Actually, just to add to Splendid's thoughts (because they were awesome), the reason why a lot of those threads get ignored is because the WP community is getting pretty thin. Some of that is because there are so many options for communication and now forums like this are getting less traffic than in times past. It's sad though because this is an effective place to be. So basically, you want to leave a community that doesn't need more people to leave it. It needs more people to stick around and apply to threads that interest them.

I am new here, but I know there are posts I have read that have really helped me personally, I don't usually respond to many of them(there are so many), but they influence my perspective of this website, there seems to be a lot of people who are looking for help. I imagine you have had an impact on people even if you never see it. I think listening in a dialogue you can still gain a lot. I would prefer to have more people respond to me too, I am trying to set my expectations low, and enjoy what i know is guaranteed, this site is at least a good read.

I hope you can find it in yourself to be more stubborn, just like me just keep posting what is on your mind, I mean where else are ya gonna find as congenial [ignore the scorpions in those bottles] a group of people as here?

And make sure, in your polls, that you offer ice cream.

I honestly don't see what you have to complain about.

You started one thread that went on for three pages, and started another that went on for two pages.

The one that went on for two pages was started by a post in which you rambled on without actually making any kind of point. Talking about the one in which you talked about your photographic memory, and how you take advanced courses, and blah blah. No sane person would even know how to respond to it. But the thread went on for two pages anyway! Lol!

Ranting for the sake of venting is one thing. But if you actually are hell bent on getting responses then you should (a) figure out what the nub of the issue is that your talking about, and (b)somewhere in your post state that nub issue, and (c)state that issue as a question (ie as an invitation to a response).

Instead of just rambling on about the Toronto Blue Jays, finish your original post with:"So, do you think that the Blue Jays will make it to the playoffs this year?", or "do you agree that the Blue Jays suck?", or "why does anyone give a crap about the Blue Jays, or about professional baseball anyway?", or "how can anyone resist checking out those hot guys in those Blue Jay uniforms?" or whatever your point might be.

make threads with polls about hot-button issues, you'll get responses. one example would be health care, should it be made available to all American citizens, or not? or should the right to vote be restricted to property owners, or not?

I enjoy reading your posts and I hope you stay.

I have been regular here over 4 years and I still have no idea what will get a response. Sometimes I post a "hot button" topic and it gets little or no response, sometimes I spend hours researching a topic, figuring out which link to put in, edit and reedit and get little or no response. Other times I put something in spur of the moment with little or no thought and it gets a lot of interest.
