The brain translates that expectation into actual healing or relief from symptoms, as hormones and neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, serotonin, cannabinoids, opioids, and even the “hunger” hormone ghrelin, change the experience of, say, pain, anxiety or depression. In other words, expectation turns belief into reality.
To some extent this article is just running down persons on the spectrum. Oh, with your patchy social skills, we didn't expect you all to have the same amount of placebo effect. Well, every human being on the face of the Earth has patchy social skills. We just might have skills patchier than average, and that's okay, too.
Many things i live are a illusion. When i dont realise its a illusion than the illusion itself is a placebo. As long when the illusion-placebo feels fine i dont see big problems, The problems can come when there are group-illusion group-placebo. The qoute below is from the famous dutch neuroscientist Dick Swaab.
The words mean: "Praying for another is a placebo for youself"
