Energy management
It feels like my biggest challenge is managing my energy. I can do quite a lot in short bursts but tire easilly and then need to rest. It's not just procrastination, because if I don't do this and force myself to do things continuously the accumulated exhaustion is devastating.
I wonder if this is an autistic trait, a human trait, or a me trait. Any thoughts?

Maybe think about the types of things you are trying to do. Are they physical work (laundry, gardening, etc), mental work (spreadsheets, problem-solving, etc), or people-oriented...or something else? I find that people-oriented work tires me the fastest, so now I try to minimize that when I can, or schedule in rest after. I am more efficient when I do physical or mental work by myself.

... It's more about 'lower energy capacity AKA fewer spoons' challenge in general, 'cannot afford this much because easily overwhelm due to intensity sensitivities even if I have higher energy level capacity AKA easily melted or missing spoons' challenge, even as simple as 'too much effort and doing too hard' trait.
And so forth...
It could be imbalances, it could be mismanagement. It's a human thing; specifically, human limitations. The rest are just factors whether it makes one more vulnerable to it or not.
More or less it sums up to; Mental health, physical health, and self-help skills is clearer factor. Innate traits are varying factors. Environment is a varying factor. Neurology, including autism, is a varying factor.

I understand energy loss. I get it in the form of what I believe to be partial shutdowns. (Someone gave me this link and it has a perfect description of what I get). But I also find general energy levels can be an issue, especially after what I believe are shutdowns, as it is like my body sometimes takes a day or two to fully recover. Yes I do seem to recover when pulling out of a shutdown (I need to be assessed to confirm it is what I am getting) but it leaves me in a state where if I am in a job working, I will go back into partial shutdown after partial shutdown if I am not fully recovered feom the first event and I also feel weak before rhe first shutdown. If I walk it feels as if I am walking through soup where everything is such an effort.

The description of driving a car is spot on for me... I habe enough strength somehow to drive in full control to reach a safe place to pull in to recover (Which could be a couple of miles) but don't expect me to then get out of the car or talk much etc... All I can do is et the strength to put the seat back and lie back and wait... And try to eat chocolate or drink cola to bring me back to life again.

Yes I get the same, for example I plan to do a certain amount of tasks in a day (they will be in my bullet journal and include mundane tasks like vacuuming the house, walking the dog, do the laundry etc). Then I will take my daughter to school or my dog for a walk and the sun will glare into my eyes despite the sunglasses I try to carry at all times, and suddenly a simple 1 spoon task has turned into a four spoon task and I've got less energy for the rest of the day (and a migraine on the way). Same happens with an impromptu coffee outing - what the person who invited me doesn't realise is that now I may not achieve my designated tasks for that day, and I am accused of being rude for being hesitant about going. It's like someone is stealing my freakin' spoons!

We have to do the best we can by being as healthy as possible. But bottom line is that we just have fewer spoons. And society makes it harder for us by making sure that the world is full of unnecessary things that constantly overwhelm us.
