I recently purchase a couple of outdoor Stealth Cameras for keeping an eye on my place while I was gone. These cameras are interesting because they capture unposed photographs. In reviewing around 10,000 images captured over the past month, I have observed the following:

I am an Aspie. Around 70 percent or more of my images show me looking down as I am walking. Also in many of these my mouth is slightly ajar. I LOOK WIERD!! !

My wife is NT. Around 90 percent of her images show her eyes looking straight ahead. She looks very natural.

You never really see yourself unless you are captured in the wild, in an unscripted manner. I suspect this trait (looking down) may be a defining trait for Aspies.

I have been on TV three times but I have never seen myself, as it was either live or I didn't know the date it would be on. I don't know how I came across but there were no complaints.
I was offered a job once on a radio station. BBC. The man who offered liked my voice as I was very clear and precise. Mind you. I had to be. Those train tannoy systems needed to be clearly spoken through for passengers to hear them.

I do tend to look odd in photographs so I am guessing I look odd in film form as well. My youngest brother loves to impersonate me! I think it is because I am different?

...Unfortunately there are very few pictures of me  - But, that aside, when I am photographed...I tend to dorkily hold my right hand up " Hi "! :D

I don't have regular video of myself walking, but I've always assumed that I walk with my head down a lot where as it feels other people walk looking forward more. Would be interesting to have more data on this and if it is an autism thing or some other factor (anxiety, low self esteem etc).

Looking down is one of the reasons why I'm not supposed to go out walking by myself. Too much of a risk that I will walk out into traffic.

I look down when I walk as well. One theory I have is that due to lifelong clumsiness, I'm scanning for uneven terrain to avoid tripping. Another theory is that since I grew up on a hobby farm and spent most of my time outside, I looked down scanning for poultry and dog poop to avoid stepping in either.

That was my thought. If you don't look at the ground, how can you avoid obstacles?

50-50 'natural' and 'weird' from what I've seen so far. Sometimes it's even better than that, that I stood out in a good way.
Seriously, I couldn't figure it out at my current state how to fully control this.

Looking down while walking.. Is also my 'habit', definitely not from any sort of physical clumsiness.
Sure it may seem off, but walking for miles while looking down gave me too many lucky changes. And partially distorting time perception of walking for hours while being impatient or overwhelmed enough to skip most stimulus involved other than the visual steps.

So do certain postures that looked odd -- to the point my mom occasionally comment to straighten up. I have no problem doing so, more like doing so constantly is a lot of work.

I remember when I was young, I would walk to a store about a mile away. Generally I had no money in my pocket when I left. On the way to the store, I would spot spare change laying on the ground along the way. I also might spot an empty soda bottle which was worth a nickel. By the time I arrived at the store I generally had enough money to buy a candy bar and maybe a comic book. This happened so often that it almost became routine.

I mostly look down while walking. I have excellent peripheral vision that keeps me from blatently walking into things. I find money and other things of value quite regularly.

I am really impressed with this camera. Here is a low resolution version of a photograph it took of a bird coming in for a landing. The timing was impeccable.
