I talked more with the lady in my building, she apparently is making weighted vests for help with meltdowns and she wants to make me one too... Do these really help?

She also pointed out my stimming, she claimed it helped that too?

Any experience?

Weighted Vest are like wearable Weighted Blankets. Several Aspies report that these can be helpful. It might be interesting for you to try it out and make your own mind up on the issue, especially if she is not going to charge you.

Please, try it and report back!

I wear, when I can, heavy clothes. Favorite piece? A big overcoat from the 1930s or 1940s, fairly short in length but made of incredibly stout woolen stuff. I only clean it once a year. It seems to have the effect of a weight blanket, but, unfortunately, it's not a lot of good in summer.

A breathable weighted vest that concealed under clothing might help a lot of Aspies. You could call it "Summer-Weights." It'd have to be fairly inconspicuous, and easy to make.
