Moving in with partner. Feels too grown up for me.

I moved in with my partner yesterday and it's very overwhelming. It feels really grown up and I feel like a fish out of water. I know I'm probably just overwhelmed in the moment and I'll calm down once I can get some normality back, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm out of my depth.

Anyone else feel like things feel too grown up for them?

Change is often hard for Aspies. I'd feel "off" when I moved back and forth between cities when I went to school.

Moving in with my 21-year old girlfriend when I was 24 was one of the easiest things I ever did in my life. I just started sleeping there every night, and eventually it became my sole place of residence for some time.

It probably helped that she was entirely non-judgmental towards me, never demanded that I prove my love for her in one way or another, and had no priorities with regard to "doing chores".

OTOH living entirely on my own was a much greater challenge. I didn't really get the hang of it until I was about 30 years old.

Ask your bf for some cuddleeeeeeeees to help you forget about the stress.

Thats how it worked when I semi-moved in with him at his previous address, but now we've both moved to an entirely new place and it's more official now. He's really good and tries not to demand too much of me.

That doesn't really work for me unfortunately. I'm quite over sensitive to heat and touch, so it's more annoying and uncomfortable than soothing for me.
