Hi Everyone:

I am seeking feedback on my use of technology in my daily life namely my use of the following pieces of tech:
1) a body-warn camera (running on iPhone)
2) 24x7 GPS monitoring by a team of dedicated individuals who have known me since high school.

these two systems are 100% voluntary on my part and were designed to keep me from wandering and ensure accountability and so that I can remember things due to other medical conditions. Find below a brief overview of these two systems:

1) The Body-Warn Camera is an iPhone 6 Plus mounted on my body (normally on the front of my shirt with the back camera facing outward) using an otterbox defender series case running a software called VideoArmor ($3.99 US in app store). The camera is turned on by me during any interaction with the general public, police officers, doctors, EMTs, etc. at the end of the incident, notes are taken and put into the system attached to each video. videos are in 99.999% of cases never shred unless with my operations team (certain situations called for the video to be uploaded to YouTube for archival purposes or to be available on iCloud as a secondary backup) and are deleted after anywhere from 30-120 days unless the video is required for such things as court proceedings then it is retained until it is no longer needed.
2) the GPS location system is again an iPhone 6 Plus with the same mounting configuration just on my belt in the event of a fall thus the device also serves as a secondary fall detection system. The monitoring software (AgentLocator Client) was custom built by my IT department and talks to the AgentLocator Dashboard on the web which allows my operations team to know where I am at all times. If I go more than about 2 blocks in any direction without first checking out, an alert is automatically sent to operations by phone, text, email, and desktop notifications in the browser. This alert also triggers the body-warn camera to start recording so there's some trail as to where I went, how I got there and any interaction that were had good, bad, or indifferent.

what do you think of my technology platform... is it a good thing? is it a bad thing/ can I improve it?

If it ends up , it was necessary, this is a great idea

If it's not necessary, :skull: delusions of persecution :skull:

Unless you are precognitive, you don't know which one it is

It's proven necessary more times than I can care to (or am able to) remember. Body-warn camera footage has proven instrumental in a lot of applications including but not limited to:
1) ensuring I take my medication as prescribed thanks to changes in dosages etc.
2) ensuring I got treated fairly by employees in a store
3) retracing my steps during a wandering incident.

incidents like this are not a daily occurrence but happen oten enouh to me something brought up in our daily meetings

It would be excellent for the parents of a cognitively-challenged person who frequently run away.

However, if a person is not a flight risk, and is basically oriented as to time and place, then I would find it rather an invasion of privacy.

Well again, I am a flight risk, which was the main reason for all of this. Then the applications of the technology expanded based on my needs, the needs of my support team to ensure my safety (those needs are driven by my needs as a person), etc. I actually embraced the concept as soon as they told me the technology was available:) because I know my limits and thought it would be an excellent addition to my existing safety procedures.

It means that you are confident in who you are, and don't care what other people think.

Uh... ok! My friend seems to think of other issues both relating to my use of such technology and relating to other personal matters that I’m not comfortable getting into detail publicly. But long story short is that 1) if I had willpower I could change my attractions 2) if I changed my attraction I wouldn’t need the technology and 3) apparently I need a waver on file just to go to the park, a store, or anywhere with the body cam rolling because “not everyone is going to want to be on video...” well my answer to this is 3.1) video is never released unless its to protect mine or others’ property, safety, or rights;? Or if such release is to comply with a subpoena or other valid legal process. 3.2) body cam video is retained anywhere from one to four months then deleted unless a point in 3.1 is true or i need the footage to support other operations (such as scheduling or remembering appointments, ensuring medication changes stick, etc). And 3.3) I’ve asked the cops on this (they also wear body cameras themselves) and they say I’m all good so long as 3.1 and 3.2 are true.

Unless the other safety systems trigger the camera, it’s at my best judgement to turn off the camera or leave it on. Unless I’m supervised, the camera is running once i get in the car or leave the house on foot. Again, safety and procedures kick on.
