I'm getting very annoyed. Several of my posts have many views but NO responses. What the heck am I saying that's wrong or so confusing NO one answers??!

I don’t know about anyone else:
I do know that if there’s a “help/support” thread and I don’t think I have anything constructive to offer I don’t post... leave it unclogged up with nonsense for those that do have something genuine to offer & the OP.

Edited in later:
Just running up and down the “posts since your last visit” feed, just a suggestion: maybe try just starting one or two threads at a time, and combining things by category: problems getting work for example?
Just a thought offered in the hope it’s helpful. :)

Yes, what Karamazov said.

If I feel I have nothing of value to add, I leave it alone and let others have their say.

Sometimes I do have something of value to add, but someone else has already posted it, so I don't.

Sometimes I feel my situation is so vastly different from expected reality that relating my thoughts or solutions would not be the slightest bit helpful.

Please don't give up. There is bound to be someone who has gone through what you are experiencing and has insights to offer.

It's a forum, not a chat room, so it's slower to begin with. Also, I'm not seeing you go back to engage in the threads you've started (by a quick jaunt thru your posts). That might help you feel more invested and would keep the conversations going.

Fencing is a rather unusual interest :)

Calm, give it time. Unlike most forums there are very few nonsense posts on here. As others have said, many of us won't post if we can't help.

As one member has already told me, this is a place to learn.

Nobody responded to me when I started as well.

^ That’s true: the more you chip in here and there the more other members you build up a rapport with, they’ll then see your handle on a thread and want to see what’s occurring.

It may be that nothing is especially confusing or wrong with your posts, but that people may not be interested in their contents, or they're waiting for someone else to post to see how they "should" answer.

Sometimes one of my posts will go unanswered for weeks. and then there is a sudden burst of replies that taper off in frequency.

Don't worry about it.

You have just explained exactly why I don't always post replies. I wish I'd used your words to explain this before.

Not everyone is capable of providing useful feedback, so people might be hesitant to reply if they don't believe what they have to say is of any value.

It could be worse, you could find them receiving loads of utterly useless replies. :nerdy:

What is your main special interest, Redchidragon?

Are you a Chicago native?

A high school offered fencing as an adult extension course, asking students to bring their own equipment. Then came a panicked call about a farmer hauling a roll of barbed wire into the gym.

I recall seeing a museum exhibit of barbed wire. Maybe in Calgary?

You need to keep posting. Eventually people will feel more comfortable and recognise you.
