I appreciate as an Aspie I like routine, enjoy things I can predict, and have a high boredom threshold.

Tonight, I put on the movie The Thomas Crown Affair (1999 version) and realised it must be at least the 20th time I've watched it as background in the past few months (while I get on and do other things) 8O. The soundtrack is good. Putting my choice to one side, am I alone in regularly putting on a favourite? You have a favourite movie that you use as a comfort or to help you? And how many times?

(And, pls, no tearing down anyone's preferences. Thx guys.)

I re-watch my favorite films all the time; I find there's comfort in familiarity, and also joy if you do truly like something in watching it play out over and over. I once watched Jurassic Park 3 times in one day haha (this was, in my defense, because it was replaying all day on TV, not a personal copy). But I do watch my favorites frequently. I watch John Carpenter's The Thing at least a few times a year. I've also watched the 2005 Pride & Prejudice many times over, as well as the BBC miniseries (starring Colin Firth). Over the last 2 months I was in the habit of putting on P&P in the background every weekend while I worked on various personal projects. And so on, with other favorite films, of course.

I also watch my favorite tv shows over again. My favorite anime is called Mob Psycho 100 and although the first season is short, I'm sure I've watched it through at the very least 20 times.

Yes, with both movies and TV series. Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, West Wing, The Crown, Star Trek, Fringe. I get some grief about it occasionally.

All of the above strike a chord with me :). Back in 1998, before i was diagnosed, i thoroughly decorated all of my apartment across the weekends of eight months while watching/listening to a six-part documentary quite a few times :). At the time I wondered why I had such a threshold for it

I estimate that I've watched each episode of Hogan's Heroes 20 times over the past 4 and a half years.

repeat TV series - Fringe, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The 4400, Twelve Monkeys, various Star Trek

repeat movies - Pride and Prejudice (1995), Sister Act (dozens of times), The Slipper and the Rose, various Star Trek
less often but still repeat: many, many, many other movie titles
