I need some positive words of encouragement.I'm really disliking my life right now.All I need is to hear from you guys that this coronavirus and protest thing will eventually calm down like I know it will. I'm going to try to imagine other people telling me its ok instead of going and actually asking.I'll tell you what though I hate myself and i think I'd rather be dead than alive right now. There are too many trolls everywhere in life i know that i control my own mind but hearing so many trolls everywhere,tv,radio, magazines, internet, friends and family yes their behavior has been radically altered by the hysteria. They are brainwashed into being completely negative by the trolls.I hate myself I hate life!

I'm sorry you're in such a negative space right now - I understand feeling overwhelmed by current events and particularly having concerns about what this will mean for our lives and futures (particularly given how volatile everything is). I wish I could offer more concrete help, but for now I wish to tell you this:

You are better off alive. Your life is important and despite the onslaught of intense, unpredictable news, I hope you find things to be happy about. The world is full of books, films, tv programs, radio shows, music, supplies/materials to work on personal interests, etc., and things going wrong in the world shouldn't take away from your ability to connect deeply with the things you love.

If you feel that friends/family/internet spaces are too intense right now, I hope you can find ways to distance yourself from exposure to that. While it's important to stay informed, I know that I have difficulty processing so much emotion, which has been extremely high (for understandable reasons, again, but it can still be a lot to deal with depending on your processing). I have found it easier to navigate how I understand issues when I take time to step back and process my thoughts individually without constant bombardment from others.

Finally, please take care of yourself. I can only try to offer encouragement that, yes, protests/illnesses/etc. ebb and flow over time, and things will almost definitely not seem as intense as they currently are. In the mean time, I hope you can remember that there are many good things in life, and to find ways to implement your favorite things in your everyday space/time and take breaks from constant exposure to the emotions/thoughts of everyone else in your life (I hope that can be possible for you).

This is the most positive cartoon I can think of. It's about a Corgi and a Cat living in a house and their adventures.

You want things to be better, and you want bad people like trolls to go away. You're a person with a good heart with a desire to see things better for you and for others. You're one of the good people out there, not one of the bad ones. Don't hate yourself or let hate or bad thoughts occupy your mind, because if you do, it will make it harder for you to remain one of those good people. All the coronavirus and protest things will eventually calm down, but we must all be patient with it, as there's no set timeline for when they will. Keeping a positive frame of mind helps a person remain patient.

Simply put, we're all better off with you being alive -- please be happy to stay that way!

(((Hokieman7)))

To start with, a hug. From there, it may be comforting to know that everyone is stressed out and can be anxious and depressed during this period of time. My husband, who is NT, and is the calmest most unflappable person you'll every meet; when he heard about the riots, he lost it and became depressed and sullen. So if he can get depressed about the situation, the rest of us are excused from feeling that way.

You are not alone. We are here and we support you and your efforts. I know the future looks bleak and scary. At least I can see that might happen. I've read enough science fiction and about dystopian futures to be very scared.

But being scared and depressed is not a good place to be. At least for me. What I find most helpful is to focus on Right Here, Right NOW. My questions to myself run something like this:

Do I have a roof over my head today?
Do I have enough to eat today?
Do I have enough of my medications for today?
Do I have clothes to wear that are not totally ragged and worn?

Basically, if I can answer yes to those questions, it means I am okay.

Next I look around for things that I love. In my case, I look at and appreciate:
The tall oaks dripping with Spanish moss.
The orchids blooming
A butterfly
The red cardinal singing. Other birds too if I stop and listen: pileated woodpeckers, catbirds, Caroline wrens, etc.
In the pond I see turtles and sometimes otters.

With practice, this gets me out of the downs when life does not seem worth living, and I feel like a failure, etc., etc.

That is just my way. You can look for your own. If this does not resonate with you, feel free to disregard it all.

No matter what, you have us here at WP.

The coronavirus thing has started to calm down already. As it is becoming the new normal to take precautions, the hoarding has stopped and people are no longer panicking. That is very significant. And soon they will come out with a vaccine. So don't stress yourself. Just take the hygiene precautions and all will be fine. As far as the rest of your life, just remember that you are beautifully and wonderfully made even if you don't realize that yourself. No matter how many challenges come your way or how much abuse others might heap on you, you in and of yourself, in your most authentic self are beautiful, wonderful, and perfect, just as your are.

I have a magnet on my file cabinet that says, "friendship is when people know all about you but like you anyway." Be that kind of friend to yourself. You deserve it.

Right now my brain is conjuring up a lot of the same negative thoughts as you are. I just try to remind myself that it is negatively affecting my perception of literally everything and that an accurate judgement is probably much more positive.

I don’t personally find other people’s positivity helpful as it is very easy to dismiss. But knowing that my brain is a liar sometimes is helpful to me.

Even though you might dismiss it and it's totally cool if you do, I am still thinking of you and hoping that you can be encouraged and strong.

I'm a big fan of the BBC series "1800 Seconds on Autism". A short way into UK Covid lockdown, they did an episode called "Now, next, and later" to help people get through what seemed might be never-ending coronavirus restrictions. Have a listen. Robyn and Jamie are amusing and enlightening, and it helped me relax about things over which I have no control: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p089kwmj

I have struggled with so many of the same thoughts that you mention. It's definitely not easy living in today's world, especially with the 24/7 news exposure that we are often "treated to." It's hard to say whether today's world is actually a crazier place than the world has ever been, or whether it's just the news that makes us think it is. But for what it's worth, I'd be willing to wager a hefty sum that both the coronavirus situation and the protests (not that I think the issues the protesters are concerned about should be forgotten) will eventually calm down, just as many other difficult situations that came before them have. It may not be as soon as we would like, but things will eventually get back to normal. :)

In any case, I'm sure that you are a wonderful person full of so many good things that you may not even be aware of. All of us are, really. And life is probably the most incredible gift there is. I'd be willing to say that there is a way that you can shape life and the world that you haven't even realized yet. :)

Just so you know, you're not alone. I also sometimes struggle with wishing I were dead and hating my life. But what I try to do in those situations is remind myself of all the good that is out there in the world, because there is plenty of it. Though they aren't always easy to find, there are a lot of good people out there. People with beautiful hearts that all of us would do well to get a glimpse inside of.

And really, I think that "self-love" is one of the best things a person can have. Learning to love myself despite what others may think of me or what other people may do has been a struggle for me for a long time, but I think it's something that we all need to learn how to do. Because really, each one of us is worth loving! :)
