Does it take you long to apologise after an outburst?

Hey all,

Curious as to how long does it usually take you to cool off after a disagreement with someone .. though not being quite at meltdown point? And if you find it is different depending on whom you are upset with say a college at work as opposed to a family member for example. I almost reached meltdown point today and needed to go into my quite room so I could calm down. Frustrating!! And if it's time dependent affected by who. Am looking to return to work very soon and I am daunted by the fact that I may meltdown and it is something that is bothering me even though it's not at that stage yet. Thoughts? Suggestions?

No, though a meltdown doesn't happen often at all, these days.

A disagreement isn't the same as an outburst though.

I prefer to not do things that I would have to apologize for later.

Yes AND no. Again, it's damn inconsistent.


On scale of 1 to 10, with 1 always fuming and never apologizing ever, to 10 saying sorry at every move right after...

My range is in between 3-7.
With 3 would take me several hours worth of wanting to beating the crap out of the person who upseted me -- with 7 a brief moment of embarrassment and a tinge of regret.

Argument?

Depends on who was wrong. If I was in the wrong, I apologise first. If they were more in the wrong than me and I was a bit in the wrong, I wait for them to apologise then apologise back.

No. I make it a point to apologize right away.
