Never me... I bashed my head twice and it hurt like HELL for about half an hour, and once it bled, I dunno if I had a concussion, it just felt bruisy after and then there was no pain anymore... this was when I was a kid before I showed lots of signs of AS, but I never hit my head more seriously than that.

I have never had one so bad that I needed to be hospitalized, but one time when I was about 15 I opened this really heavy old fashioned door that led into the bathroom and as I walked in my foot was too forward and caught the door so that I walked face first into narrow side of the door. It hit me right between the eyes and I saw a big flash of light and me knees felt weak and I almost fell down. It gave me a headache and a nasty bruise between my eyes.

I've never been seriously injured, but I am a chronic headbanger. I often whack my head against hard surfaces in frustration and anger. I have faint scars on my forehead from one occasion, and I often have lumps and bruises in that area.

One time when I was on the playground in first grade, we were all sliding down this ice-covered slope (we were out of sight of the playground monitors), and I fell and cracked my head. I think I was knocked out for a moment, because I remember opening my eyes when I was on the ground and seeing the other kids looking down at me, and one of them said, "Woh." I had a headache that afternoon, so I might have had a mild concussion.

Also, when I was maybe 10 years old I was walking across an old dock up in the woods, and one of the boards I stepped on wasn't nailed down, and as I stepped on one end of it, the other end came up and smacked me in the back of the head. That hurt horribly! I'm lucky there wasn't a nail sticking out of- it probably would have penetrated my skull!
I've never been hospitalized for a head injury though.

I've also had fevers above 105 a couple of times, so I don't know if those could have done anything to my poor brain.

Once, aged around 4 or 5, my mother was very late picking me up from school. So late in fact that the school was all locked up and everybody had gone home, leaving me standing on the side of the road alone. I crossed the road and tried knocking on a few doors but nobody answered. I then thought I'd better walk along the canal to my friend's house but half way there decided to turn back. When I got back to the school my mother was there and I said, "And where do you think you've been?" (no doubt imitating my father perfectly...). She hit me so hard I literally flew through the air, hitting an iron gate head first, splitting it wide open. My mother didn't even notice, grabbing my hand and dragging me up the street to the car. I couldn't see where I was going due to the blood running into my eyes. It took a policeman to stop her and mention my gaping wound. For the next 30 years or so I had a recurring dream of flying towards an iron gate, knowing I was going to hit it.

ow ow ow.... 8O ! !! !! !! !

Well...when I was about three, I was dropped squarely on my head by my dad's best friend who was playing this game called "Meathook" where he would dangle me in the air by my feet.
I recall hitting the gound really hard and being sent to bed with an ice pack, but don't remember what came next.

When I was about 4 my drunk ElSalvadioran babysitter took me for a ride on my dad's broken moped...I was so terrified..and I remember little pieces of it flying off as we rode...(i guess my dad was working on it so there were parts that were loose....The ride ended in front of a laundrymat about half a mile away...he got off, but I was still on it and fell face first onto the gravel parking lot. There was blood everywhere...I still have a scar on my lip from it....and I remember this old hispanic guy helping sop up the blood with newspapers...I recall getting a ride home in a police car, and they dropped me off in my front yard, but I don't remember any more than that.

Ummm...a few other odds and ends...those were the major ones..
Neither required hospitalisation but I have wondered what sort of impact they had on my development.

In retrospect, alot of the events that I went through as a child caused me to develop PTSD...and I wonder sometimes whether what I have is actually AS or long term effects of PTSD....(though AS symptoms DO run in my family..so it could still be a combination of the two)...another theory is that perhaps my serious ADD symptoms mighta been contributed to by childhood head trauma.

Or....it could have nothing to do with it whatsoever....who knows?

One time I dressed up as Dracula for Halloween and there was a pack of fake blood that came with it. Anyways I was playing a game with my brother and I had put the cape over my face so I couldn’t see. I ran my nose and forehead smack into the corner of the wall. A ton of blood started pouring out from both my nose and a deep cut on my forehead. My mom thought I spilled the fake blood and got angry until I cried “it’s not fake”. I cried the whole way to the ER where I got stitches. Don’t think I got a concussion or anything, just a bad gash.

Another time I was playing a game where I was trying to see how many steps I could jump down in the stairwell leading to the basement. I wasn’t paying attention to the ceiling height as it lowered abruptly midway through the stairwell. Eventually I tried to jump from one step too high and my head hit the ceiling edge as I leaped. I got knocked out for a few seconds and felt real weak and dizzy when I got up off the floor. Oddly this one didn't cause a gash or bleed even though it knocked me out cold and left a huge lump.

When I was about 10 or 11 I was standing around at school and a boy about 20 metres away shouted 'WATCH OUT!' and next thing I know a huge rock lands on my head. I almost blacked out but stayed conscious. Then everyone screamed and that's when I noticed the blood, and lots of it. I had to have several stitches and was pretty out of it for a couple of days. I now have a bald patch where my hair had to be cut away to stitch the wound up, which people love to point out when my 'hair's brushed wrong'.

I've never been knocked out, or had a concusion. I've died though. I'm a constant head banger weather it be due to meltdowns, or plain being wreckless, and clumsy. I've broken my nose many times. The most serious was when I was wounded by a terrorist bomb in Saudi Arabia. I had a peice of shrappenel slide along my skull under my skin it fragmented, and came out in two peices. I have 3 big scars from that. I died from shock, and blood loss for a very short time. I developed PTSD from it. With PTSD, and AS I lost my memory for dates, and I don't have all around as good of a memory as I used to. For example when I was a kid I could remember in exact detail a long number I glanced at. After the PTSD symptoms started it gets blurry in my head like faces do. I'm even more at the edge of a stress overload since PTSD. For me it doesn't seem to different than the way it is for NT's. I just do what Autistics do when over stressed. With being at that level of stress all the time I stim alot more.

When I was 3 I fell onto broken glass on the ground. I was taken to hospital and since then have had to wear glasses for a squint. I still have the scar above my eyebrow 37 years later, so it musy have been quite bad.

When I was five some kid threw a rock and it hit me in the forehead. I was
crying so hard, the neighbor thought I was laughing at first. I guess I bled
tons from it. I still have a tiny scar from it.

When I was around 7 or 8 some kid threw a rock and it hit me somewhere in
the back of my head. I "heard" this really loud beep inside my head and saw
kind of a white light too at the same time all at the second it hit me, or maybe
it was stars. No blood came of it, but dang it hurt a LOT, I know that much.

I don't know that I've had anything major or not, but I do think I got a concussion from being kicked in the head repeatedly when I was in my late teens. Since then (at least I think it started then), I sometimes feel disconnected with my body. Maybe it didn't start then though, I just noticed that a few days after that when I was walking at school I suddenly lost "automatic" control of my body. Like I could walk, but I had to manually move my limbs. That's never happened since to that extent, but I do still feel disconnected from my body or mind, like I'm out of phase with them or something.

When I was 12 a much older and larger neghboor kid and I were wrestling and he gave me a slight concusion. I went home and fell asleep and it hurt for a few days.

WHen I was 23 I had a nasty bike accident, and smashed my head on the road, bled alot and a car saw me lying their, no helmit (cause im stupid sometimes) but did have flashing lights on my bike, which may have saved me, a police officer came to the scene, then an ambulance, he was the first responder, i was of course not in trouble, he must have been in the area and wanted to check on me.

I had many bad injuries to my head. When I was 3, my dog bit me and split my whole head open, I had to have 40 stitches, it was crazy. I also fell and cracked my head in friendlys, I was on one of those booster seats, rocking back and forth and fell onto the ground, my mother wanted to sue, but didn't think anything would come out of it, well like a couple years later people did sue and now those booster seats aren't allowed, go figure haha!
