I seem to be developing a complex of late (maybe??) It seems to me that anymore when I post here people ignore what I have said...and many time the thread seems to die.

In my day to day life I usually have a trusted person in each setting (work, friends, etc) that knows about me and AS and whom I regularly seek social advice from, as I usually am unaware if I am offending people...coming across as condecending...interjecting too many irrelevant and trivial facts into conversations or any number of other things.

So I'm wondering...am I doing something wrong?...have I offended people...or am I just being a bit paranoid?

Honestly, I don't know you well enough to have an opinion. 58 posts seems a little bit low to me to start suspecting that people don't care what you have to say.

I have not been active here in a while (beyond today and yesterday), but I know what you are talking about. I often feel like I am a 'thread-killer' and it makes me stop posting on forums like this from time to time, or shift around to new ones, etc. My wife has lamented about that happening to her as well. It seems so silly if I really think about it, but it really does feel like you are being rejected as irrelevent by the entire board when that happens.

I don't know why it happens, and am perhaps not too keen on finding out. It might confirm some awful negative that I am much more comfortable ignoring.

I agree with Sean. Its somewhat a function on number of post and time on the site.

Its not a popularity contest really, its just that one seems to grow familiar with individuals after the have been around and have posted a bit more. In my case, I feel I *know* them and feel freer to question or comment on their post. I don't know the newer, less frequent posters and often will not comment on their post as I'm not sure how they would take it. I don't want to accidently offend someone.

stlf, I have no problem with anything you have posted. The style and content seem fine to me. Ditto for you, Tekneek.

I think you have to post frequently to build up some rapport with the main clique of 1000+ post posters. There are other factors, too; I think some of us are incapable of feeling part of anything, for example. We'll always feel like the hangers-on.

Anyway stlf, I see from your profile that you fish. I do a bit myself: trout, salmon, ray, bass. If you wish to start a thread on that topic, I'd be sure to reply.

You seem a sound lad to me stlf, what I've seen of you. I don't give gmail invites to just anybody, you know...

Just dive in on a few discussions and you'll get noticed for better or worse (especially if you say something provocative :twisted: ) Its easy to feel left out when a site gets to this size, but there's usually somebody listening.

I agree with Sean as well. I think more people would listen if you would submit more posts. Also, there are 1603 members at Wronplanet.net. I go to school with around that many people; I don't necessarily get to know all of them that well, but I made friends over the years that I went to school with them. It sometimes depends how long you are there plus how outgoing someone is that equals how much people eventually get to know them and actually question and/or comment what they have to say.
