What are your experiences of taking stimulant medications such as ritalin, adderall, strattera etc

Did they increase anxiety? The big question is did they help your self control, making perhaps social anxiety decrease, was insomnia an issue, did those piles of mess turn into tidy organised rooms?

Could you control your moods better, did multi tasking improve, sensory integration.

Any information will be great, thanks ! !

i believe that adderall (amphetamine) is very nice (decrease in social anxiety and increase in self-confidence and drive) in the first days, but the body builds up tolerance soon.
thats only what i heard though, i haven't had the luck to get any of the above prescribed yet.

All ritalin did for me was make me mean, meltdown more, and almost kill me. My heart rate was way to high. Luckily there was no damage to my heart.

I was on Adderall for a bit and all it did was speed me up... big time. Everything was VERY clean, and I couldn't stop writing or moving around at all-moreso than normal. I was up for almost 2 weeks straight due to it, lol. I wonder if the dosage was too high... or is it supposed to do that to ya? lol. I liked the fact I was able to stay so on top of things, but hated that I just kept finding more and more to do. I swear while on that stuff, I rubbed 3 portions of paint off of the wall trying to get marks off of it, not paying any attention to what I was actually doing, but I'll be damned if it wasn't clean by the time I was done, lol.

I didn't know Ritalin and Strattera were stimulants; I thought they were more like sedative antipsychotics. Did they make anyone giddy? I'm just curious.

Strattera is consider a non-stimulant(less likely to have abuse potential....I mean giddiness).

I have been both on Ritalin and Adderall.

Lets see..it has been a while...

My Ritalin doage was way too low...something like 15 mg...I forget...anywhoo....I still felt cranky and overwhealmed...AND fatigued....ESPECIALLY once the tolearance kicked in.

Then I was on 30 mg of AdderallXR....and that was great....for a while...it sorta cleaned up my messy mind into neat little piles.....but i still had a tendancy to hyperfocus on things I wasn't supposed to...it made me still yet even MORE focused on these things....(like the computer :? )...etc...
While I was on adderall, I lost weight (30lbs  ), my blood pressure actually went down (it was high before) I thought it was helping with anxiety...but something went wrong and my meltdowns became more severe...It used to be that I had a mental block against feeling angry....I just didn't know how to feel that emotion...but all of a sudden a switch was turned on so that I was very capable of it....Part of it had to do with the fact that even though my mind had been made tidier...I was still in this really messy chaotic ADD environment..and I was the only one who cared....it was something like that....I became obsessed with trying to straighten out all the squiggles in the messed up abstract painting that was my life...I ended up feeling more suicidal than normal...at times.....and i ended up having a sorta major breakdown in the end. I ran away from home and everything....(broke up with Flakey...moved to another city)...but once I was there, my Adderall supply ran out..(no longer had health insurance)..and I became messy old self again...I was gone for 6 months and then came back.
It could be argued that my breakdown was a long time coming...I had been close to my wits end for months before getting my Adderall script...and I had thought at the time that finally getting medicated was the thing that would make me better...

oh well...

I think that Adderall might be kinda bad for certain kinds of brain chemistry.
I still wish I had something to help me out from time to time...
