Austin Powers... if he didn't get all the ladies...

Not saying autistics can't get the ladies... but his social skills must be off the charts...

you know, I was thinking the same. I was gonna vote for him due to his clothing, lol, but he talks to way too many people, and easily it seems. Cannot really separate the appearance from personality thing...

WHAT THE HECK?!?!? Austin powers doesn't have good social skills AT ALL! He has poor grooming, goes for the flashy outlandish stuff.(to gain attention). Uses that stupid pump and platform shoes to compensate for perceived problems. Is overconfident and blatent in weak areas, like thinking women are men. etc...

If not for the fact that so many were so outlandish, one would think any apparent popularity was contrived. Frankly... If I has less pride and intelligence, I could have done everything AP did. If I was in as showy a time and people were so hard up, as in AP, I might even have had better luck than he appear to(without the stupid motions and effect to cause the fembots to blow up, etc...). Frankly, for the fembots, I liked the bionic series concept better.

By contrast, I have good grooming, am conservative/laid back, don't have any perceived problems of that nature. I tend to be shy, and not so blatent.

So AP got lucky because he was in so many peoples faces, etc... I am often not even really seen.

I could go into bars, wear flashy jewelry, say the silly pickup lines.(I actually kind of like the double entendre of "If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?"!), and try to make out with everything with long hair. But, frankly, all that is 180 degrees from where I am at.

BTW Out of the three, I think that, out of the pictures you showed, the rainman one looked more autistic. The idea of not caring about looks, being disinterested, and having something to care for needs that you seem most concerned for, are all typical autistic features. I am a little less obvious in all three ways, but sometimes look similar.

I voted instinctively for Sid. I may be biased though....just my first impression.

nice.

I think we need a range of pictures of each, though, if we're to judge who looks the most autisic in general. :)

I voted for the one looking off into space instead of looking right at me.

I can't believe that Dustin looks aspie even if he is acting autistic. His face is just too sharp and awake. I have the stare but I have something tonic about the flesh on my face. It's also the shadow of abuse that my brother and I both show in photographs but I think there is something not plugged in about the way I look.

I voted for Rain Man. Was Sid autistic in the movie?

I already voted. I am always reluctant to 'assign' anyone autistic - not my way and I feel no desire to anyway. But, in this informal setting: I have always strongly felt Morticia Addams is deeply autistic-AS. In fact, some have said I have some of her qualities & traits myself! I have been called a 'Morticia' or more often a 'Wednesday Addams.' I do look quite a bit like Wednesday, except I'm blonde! Both these females are aloof, non-emotive, seem affected (but they're really not), strange, misunderstood, spooky......I think you can see the parallels already, yes? Even their gaze.

No offense to the british, but there at least USED to be a stereotype that they had VERY bad teeth! Whil I'm at it, there was ALSO, in the 60s-70s, the stereotype of being flashy and acting almost homosexual. In short, they supposedly almost all acted much like AP!

LabPet,

Interesting! The ONE constant of autism seems to be that basic things are often different. The addams family was based on the same premise.

As for calling someone autistic, somehow that has a new meaning for me. I no longer think of it as something that is definitely bad. I mean look at you! If you could get rid of the meltdowns, and similar feelings, would you really have anything left making you want to be "normal"? When I chatted with you, you almost seemed HAPPY of the whole thing. And HEY, that's fine by me! :D

I guess nobodys life is TRULY perfect.

A character from the movie, 'Flushed Away'. He's a plump Punk Rat with a short, round body and a large baby face. He's voiced by Shane Ritchie.

The chubby rat in my avatar.
