By getting lucky, or finding a local AS group if there is one near you.

There's a thread about meeting other aspies in one of these forums. Unfortunately no one lives near me (Central IL) and I don't think there are any groups for adults near me. Everything's just for kids.

I guess my mom asked this woman at some meeting and she's not getting it, just telling my mom generic things I could go to like a church group or something.

Why not trying to look to see if your state has an Autism Society website, at times they have forums and other links to resources that might guide you to finding others.

had a look, but from what am have found, in the whole of kansas,it looks like the only support groups are for kids, and parents, that is 'normal' for a lot of places.
if unable to find anything out through what has been mentioned already, what about setting up a group with other aspies [and auties, pddnosers etc,if want to have a wider range included],from what have seen, kansas definitely needs it.
