I thought that some of you might enjoy this. Sorry if it's been posted a million times before.

I don't really get where this relates to neurotypicalism in any way at all, lol. My son acted like this for a long time and has been diagnosed... most of his behavior that was like that was due to changes in routine and overstimulation. My daughter is still like that and she is hand flapping and walking on her tip toes all of the time... Both of my kiddos were threatened with being kicked out of daycare due to disruptive behavior.

I must be missing something here, lol.

Trying to get it, I watched it again... my son wanders just as that one kiddo does, my daughter grabs frantically at anything of certain colors or textures... I'm still not getting it, lol. The ONLY thing that is different is that my kiddos don't scream like that when I have to go somewhere... and that still happens occasionally but only lasts for 2 minutes tops after I close the door...

I don't get it, either.

I WAS going to say what the others did. How do you KNOW they are "NT"? A lot of psychiatrists would say they had SOME sort of problem, even if it was just behaviour. And spoofs like this AREN'T spoofs! They are remakes, or some such, but not spoofs. A spoof makes fun of another piece by it showing some aspect the other didn't, or using it in a comedic way.

The part I don't get is they act exactly the same, so it really isn't all that funny looking at it and seeing my kiddos doing the same, lol.

I get it, now. That's hilarious. It seems that the autistic children are more well-behaved. Why turn a well-behaved autistic kid, into a nasty screamer.

well, I suppose that is true... both of mine are fairly laid back, for the most part when they aren't screaming, lol, but maybe where I'm having a hard time with it is that I DO have 2 autistic kids and they do the same I'd probably get it if I didn't have kids, I think-I just have too much to really relate it to to fully get the joke in that short period of time of all different kids in the video. Can't find the actual video from autism speaks, but the images I found look roughly the SAME as the other, lol.

*edit: never mind, found it. I suppose after watching it, it makes a little bit more sense... but for some reason, I still feel a need to focus on the parents' attitude in Neurotypicalism Every Day... because that is what makes it so hard. The parents don't know what to do, they don't understand, and they don't want to believe that things are different for their child. Heck, even in the original I still focus more on the parents feeling sorry for themselves rather than talking about what they are doing to try to help Now THAT, my friend, is Neurotypicalism Every Day I don't blame the parents for it, as I guess that would be a normal reaction to dealing with something one doesn't understand, but that angle altogether makes more sense to me.
