Anyone else here besides me? I'm currently taking Symbyax for my OCD and BPD.

Do you take any medication for your OCD?

i have been diagnosed with mood disorder NOS. i'm borderline bipolar, but my sympoms are more short term than most. I had full blown OCD when i was in elementary school, but over a few years i "grew out of it." i still have troubles with it with some things. Its become more of a habit than an obsession.

I did have a period of mood-disorder/manic-depression, over about 3 years leading up to a breakdown. Since then only really experienced some "anxiety and depression" , though I notice hypo-manic/grandiose/aggressive thinking patterns and energy waves starting when I eat lots of dairy, wheat, sugar, and don't get enough sleep.

OCDs; the only one which had begun to upset me, as opposed to being relatively reassuring or pleasant or quirky, was my haircutting which I couldn't seem to stop even when was SURE I wanted to grow it. But a little tidying snip would turn into major scalp-job over and over again. Which got quite distressing. But it's better too at mo.

Only ever been on meds for the anxiety and dep.

Here is an interesting article about links between bipolar and AS.

I'm mildly bipolar as well as AS. I take Zoloft for now- just started it about 2 months ago. It's helped with my more active, manic nature and I can actually sleep these days. It's also helped a bit with my anxiety and sensory overload issues as well. I hope it's a good fit long-term. Time will tell.

I was diagnosed with OCD in 5th grade, though I ended up getting over it without any medication.

I've had OCD off and on. I was obsessed with cleaning for many years when I was growing up and I hated things out of place. Everythoing always had to look like a display in a home display magazine. I was also obsessed with being clean too. I went through a stage where I kept washing my hands until skin was cracking and all dry, so my mother bought me some lotion and told me wahsing them too much is doing it to my hands so I stopped. I was also afraid of dirt and getting sweaty.

I have major OCD. It really is only one OCD issue that effects me. But that one issue has destroyed my life.

Very definitely Bipolar, with definite genetic predisposition.

I've avoided meds but I'm expecting that I'll be on them soon enough since my cycles have intensified in both frequency and amplitude, though it's hard sometimes to figure out if my mood makes me more prone to meltdowns, or the meltdowns are amplifying my mood.

I'm not particularly OCD outside of a bunch of typically weird little rituals (sidewalk crack avoidance comes to mind).

Yes, I am probably mildly OCD but I am sure a lot of bookkeepers might seem a little OCD compared to people in other occupations. At any rate, it really doesn't bother me.
