You know, I was talking to a co-worker recently, and I said "If I was investing in the human race, I would sell short."(Selling short is selling basically a promise that you will sell later at a given price. THEY buy because it reduces risk and initial cost. YOU sell because you expect the price to drop before you have to deliver, so you can buy at a lower price. USUALLY you buy low, sell high. Selling short sells high and buys lower.)

Anyway, my memory sometimes automatically connects things, so I spoke of the video here about the smart couple that waited and later couldn't have kids, and the dumb family that had kids galore. I remember how one girl here reacted with her normal terse reply, when she saw it.

Lately, someone has spoken about her. Her name was sophie and she went by the name starbuline here. I liked her. We chatted. I am SICK to hear that she died. I almost wish I could say how sick I am to hear about it. I didn't know her well, but feel I got to know the better side of humanity a bit better, etc...

Anyway, the person that spoke of her also said bad things about alex. I sincerely hope they aren't true. Sophie seemed like a nice girl that merely found out about AS late, etc... She DID sound very AS. She was OBSESSED with all things about russia, right down to knowing russian.

If anyone wants to say things, like he said about alex, maybe they can leave some pointers to some info on another site. In any event, I guess I have the few memories I have. Because of the ackwardness caused by different ages, and the cultural misunderstandings, I would never have even gone to see her, but she sounded like a nice girl. I only wish there was something I could say to relieve her depression. I tried to console her where I could.

WHAT A WASTE! With all the vermin that is left in the world, it is obscene that people like her end up committing suicide.

I'm new here so never got to know starbuline. I saw the post you mentioned and responded to that person. It seemed like there was an ulterior motive. I questioned that motive. I also picked up on a form of envy. Does that person have something to lose with this site being here?

That's what I wondered. Starbuline was just so clearly autistic with the odd behaviour, meltdowns, stims, but she also seemed smart, and she was nice. She lucked out one day when someone figured she had AS and she was diagnosed, etc... Anyway, she tried to commit suicide before.

I can't say I blamed her. I acted normal, seemed more normal, and had fewer physical problems, and **I** tried suicide before. I think I am over with that. My last attempt was over 25 years ago.

Anyway, she seemed so nice, and intelligent, that I would have prefered an actual punch in the stomach to hearing that she died.

She also had such a disparity of action to what she actually was, that I have decided to not be so quick with assuming anything. If I had met her on the street earlier, I would probably not have given her a second thought, and might have even walked on the other side of the street. TODAY, I would have at least talked with her.

I'd also like to know what the trigger was that caused her to try suicide yet again.

You can never really know all of someone's reasons for suicide, but her "only real life friend" (quoted from a PM she sent me offering her condolences after my brother's suicide) had killed himself not long before she did it. That can't have helped her mental state.
