A couple a years ago during my staying a up all night drinking coke and playing computers games days I had a really scary heart palpitation where it felt like my heart stopped then kicked in again with what felt like a thud in my chest. It scared the hell of me and started me having Panic attacks. It was horrible I was having panic attacks all the time and I could not relax.

Since I went on medication and I worked my self to getting back out again and doing things I stopped having them. I still have bad anxiety usely cause when something reminds me of how I was when I was bad. Also rationalise what's happening to me when I'm anxious also helps me prevent panic attacks.

The problem I have is if I have an anxious do I stay extremely anxious from a day to a week sometimes and I can't relax and get back to normal again for ages.

I wondering what I can do to shorten them periods of anxiety.

Same. I just wish I could calm down. At worst, I have uncontrollable meltdowns. I can appear calm outside (I think) but inside I'm a wreck. I've always been 'high-strung,' but I would give anything to just be comfortalbe, confident. When I watch NTs they are so....confident, natural.

How can I undo my curse? I feel ok when I'm deeply entranced with a project, but otherwise I cannot get unlocked, for lack of a better word. At times I am so deeply autistic that I just feel echoes, sound, light, pattern, numbers. I cannot never be well.

Heart palpatations and anxiety are often caused by caffiene (Coke). If you drink a lot, cut back slowly--caffiene withdrawal causes headaches and sluggishness.

I get anxious just having to respond to the world. My high school years were spent with having dread each and every morning, resulting in long term digestive problems (now resolved) and other manifestations of anxiety. Somehow I got a 3.8 GPA and into a good university. I have no idea how, looking back. I wasn't responding to school pressure as much as the pressure of living, breathing, and leaving the house.

I place another vote for immersing oneself in projects that are interesting, that seems to do the trick. Moderate exercise also helps.
And it's nice to have a pet, as you have discovered with your terrier (I'm a cat person). My cat is in my lap now, purring, and that helps me face the morning.

Used to be this way, maybe you could try cbt.

Funny my gp was measuring my pulse the other day and said it was a bit high and maybe I was anxious. But I didn't didn't feel that anxious. I think my brain can't be bothered with the registering the relentless adrenalin all the time.

When I go to martial arts, or some other things before I feel really really apprehensive during it usually get better and I enjoy myself, but afterwards I'm pretty relieved it's over. Still after nearly 2 years.

ADA, are you listening to my accommodation? Why can't I have a fainting couch in the laboratory?

as fun as staying up all night playing games is, my anxiety is always worse when I'm overtired and out of synch. cutting back on caffeine, and sorting out more regular sleep patterns can help heaps, as does eating regularly, and taking breaks to stretch and just chill. sunlight through the eyes helps regulate melatonin levels so I try and get as much natural light in the day as I can so I sleep better. we also have two Ragdoll cats who are very good at making us both stop and relax.

Singing energetically stops my anxiety but it's hardly something I can do anywhere. I wish life were a muscial. Wrong Planet, the Muscial would be cool

I know this might seem like a stupid question, because your probably know you either have ti or don't, but do you think you have Generalized Anxiety Disorder? It's an actual diagnosable disorder. :)

I become anxious out of fear of becoming anxious. 8O It's an annoying vicious circle.

I have no idea how anyone can embrace any part of this awful disorder regardless if it is a benefit. We have very similar symptoms to psychosis.

That's why I keep Xanax with me. When I become afraid of becoming anxious, I remember that Xanax is my safety net, just by keeping it with me. I don't have to take it to have the fear of fear go away.

Have you ever seen the site www.emofree.com or www.tapping.com?

They teach (free) about EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques. It's the same principle of acupuncture but no needles. Instead you tap lightly on important meridian points.

I've seen it work some amazing things on lots of different people - and I find it works best on anxiety.

It only takes a few minutes to learn and even less time to do a round or two - give it a try!

Looks interesting I'll look into it.
