My husband and I are both very sensitive to the effects of sugar. We get dizzy from it sometimes, almost like a drunk feeling. We feel the lows quite intensely, and also the highs. We feel awesome with sugar (initially - until the super high and the crash that follows), and without...well you don't want to be around us lol

Sometimes I get downright dizzy feeling from it. No, we're not diabetic.

Anyone else (who is not a diagnosed diabetic)?

I'm the same way and I voted 'Yes, the stuff makes my head spin...and I love it!', which is true because I love the highs, but the lows are terrible!

High-fructose corn syrup. It's put in just about everything now. But studies show you're more likely to become diabetic from it than you are real sugar.

Seeing how my body can't tolerate the stuff, I believe it.

I'm hypoglycemic so sugar makes me feel high for a few minutes but then it makes me feel like I jumped off a cliff in about 30 minutes after eating. If I have a whole lot of candy at once, something like Laffy Taffy or SweetTarts that people have in their candy dish at work I get hyper as if I had taken drugs. I don't do drugs; I can barely handle SweetTarts! Chocolate doesn't make me hyper though.

I had some grape Kool-Aid at work today. I had to call a customer in Nebraska and I made up a song about the state of Nebraska and was singing it into the telephone while spinning back and forth in my chair. Thank goodness their answering machine didn't pick up. But that's just how stupid I get from sugar. :?

I don't like alot of sweets....I voted that sometimes it hits me hard and sometimes I don't notice anything.
I don't sweeten my coffee...don't eat many desertsor candy..don't drink sodas...I do recall that one time SHFL had a teen show and they were passing out a huge bag of pixie sticks and everybody was acting completely wild and drugged out on the pixie sticks....including me....and I kept shooting more and more pixie sticks...it was crazy.....

I like more salty/savory foods usually.

It is hard for me to actually gauge my reaction to sugar....i think it often gives me a head buzz or headache...

I take prescription Adderol, which makes suggar and caffine look like placebos by comparison. 8)
(I like to act smug about the drugs I take just to irritate the "Say no to drugs!" crowd.)

Actually I try to stay away from sweets. I'd rather eat nectarines and apricots. I prefer getting my sugar from things that don't have wrappers around them.

One of my friends insists that everyone needs a drug of choice. Were sugar a drug, it would definitely be mine.

Let's put it this way: I drink sugar with tea in it.

I'm not really sensitive to it at all. Once in a very great while, it'll hit me for some reason (I'm not sure why), and then I'll bounce around for maybe a few hours (the high is generally nice; I never feel a low), but that's it. I have a pretty high tolerance to all energy stuff; caffine (no spellchecker, sorry) doesn't affect me at all, nor do energy drinks. Sugar is the only rare exception; I'll be sugar high maybe once every four months, and I (used to) drink quite a few sugared sodas everyday.

That's a healthy way to be. I truly wish I could get myself off of the sugar rollercoaster. I'm pathetic in how addicted to the stuff I am.
