The School job hiring point is near. The application
process was straight forward. Then they wait for a
period of time to fill in postions, or couple positions
for last years employees.

6 hours a day is full-time w\ benefits.

Sometimes the principal, or assistant principal
does the hiring. Sometimes the assigned role
of hirer is different.

My last opportunity ended today. I am not keen
on food service, and feel it a waste. If I get a food
job down here, it will probly be 20x$6=$500 a month.
Thus a winter job only. It will not cover school.
I have failed.

I will still need a winter job, but might as well stayed in S.f
if I am to grow old and dead on a food job. Bang!

I take it that they called and said the positions were filled? Did they comment as to why? It sounded promising when they called on Wednesday. Do you know if it was an issue with the references or background check? If so, perhaps you can work on cleaning that up.

You have options.

One is SF.

One is the Vocational training place that one person suggested.

There are other, less well paying positions with children which might be avialable. Not for long term but until you have expereince. A years experience might make all the difference.

Another option is to clean up the Master's mess. Once that is done, you can go back to school. Although you may not have caused that mess, you will have too clean it up at some point.

i don't think you've failed, GH. with your travels, you've done something far braver than i could do, in the same vein. and i reckon the same goes for many other people, who just wouldn't dare to do what you've done.

from the outside, this looks like a temporary setback (and i do mean from the outside - i'm not negating your feelings). take the crappy job whilst you look for something better, if that's possible.

sending you loads of positive energy, to get you through the "horrible feeling" bits.

Vivi.

Sorry to hear about your job trouble. But you really haven't failed as I see it. You explored new territory, and met lots of interesting people. I would love to roam around like that sometime.

How are you with motor vehicles?

I've been taking time off since quitting my lousy sales job, and I think I have decided to get a commercial drivers license. It seems perfect, because I can make a decent income, and not have the constant pressure of a supervisor and coworkers, and chitchat and such.

Just thought I would mention this option to you, but I know a lot of folks on here aren't fond of driving.

I realize that S.F is not the option. But a new job search
idea is in order! Hmmmm?

Thanks for your complement. I am hoping my next

Thanks for this input. I have little driving skills though.
And my sense of direction sucks! Thanks though for this
perspective.

Wow, I don't think you have failed at all Ghosthunter! You have done more in the last few months, than some people have done in a lifetime. I think you are very brave for going out into the world like you have.

With your intelligence and verbal skills, I'm sure you will find the right job. You are an extraordinary person. Don't slight yourself!

I say thankyou for this reassurance. I will need to start another
type of job search before the snow settles in. Right now a winter
job has importance, and I will have to put this behind me.

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter[/i]

GH,

First, were you given a absolute "No" answer yet or have they simply not contacted you. If they told you they would contact you and have not, maybe you may want to give them a call on Monday but do not think it is a "No" yet. In fact, if they had not called you, that means that they are still interested because it is easier to tell a canidate "No" instead of "Yes".

You also have not failed. There are other options. I would suggest asking someone from the AuSM about your options too. The people there may know about something.
