Five months into my new career. What do I think? So this is life... get up each day, go to work, deal with office politics, do my assigned work, come home, go to sleep and repeat. I want to do more in my life than be part of the workplace grind. This is too boring and unstimulating for me. I think at some point in my life I'll be looking to move on to something thats better for me.

No wonder so many NT's get pissed up on the weekend.

I felt like you describe after I first finished university and started working.

However now I'm in a job I really enjoy.

Life is more than work - make sure you're having fun outside of work so that you've got something to look forward to.

What, you thought there was MORE? 8O

I WISH! I can take solice in that I make other peoples jobs easier, help keep companies afloat, and maybe even help people to SAVE others, but then I see that line go in the other direction, and realize it is one big circle. I had a plan to retire by 35. It PROBABLY would have worked if I stuck with it. NOW, almost a decade later,no end in sight. 8-(

I'm trying to find work that also happens to be fun, so that it isn't work and so that I learn something new each day. Unfortunately, most places of employment in my field want people who are good with interpersonal skills.

I've always been pretty much oblivious to office politics, doing my own thing. Your routine is pretty much what work is all about.

On the bright side, you're in Wyoming where theres not too many people, and lots of really cool geological formations, so when the weather permits it, you can explore them.

There's a State Park or National Monument about halfway between Cheyenne and Laramie right off of I-80, which may be good for weekend outings. Also your not too far from Denver/Boulder if you want culture. Also, gas prices permitting, you can take a trip up to the Little Bighorn battlefield which is essentially just past Sheridan on the other side of the Montana border.

When I was a kid, my parents visited a freind in Casper. While we were there, we took a rather long day trip up to Sheridan, and up Sheridan Mountain, over to Thermopolis. They have one of the largest hot springs in the world, as well as Geysers, as it's not too far from Yellowstone. We came back down the Wind River Canyon into Casper. --It was a very interesting trip, and I saw a lot of really interesting geological formations.

Yeah, it's a nice place. You've probably also noticed that near it, there is a rest area with a marker (If I remember correctly, it's in the middle of the medium strip) with a Pine tree growing out of a sizable boulder.

In my ideal society people's jobs would have something to do with a persons interests and passions. In such a society one's job would be a life-fulfilling thing, not something to be endured for a paycheck.
