I'm a Frontie (Cerebral)!
These references are teh shiz squared: Training: Whole Brain Teaching and Learning and NHG FAQ.
It turns out all that bunk about left and right cortical hemispheric dominance isn't quite the whole picture. Apparently, a better model distinguishes between not only left and right brain dominance but also whether the dominance is in the cortex or the limbic system!
On the WAIS-III IQ test, my verbal IQ (134) was much higher than my performance IQ (94), which implies left cortical dominance. Yet it doesn't explain some things such as why I'm so gosh darned creative (allow me to have a moment of narcissism; my narcissism quotient was too low) that something was wrong with that staid test. It seems Ned Hermann's Whole Brain model better describes my mental style (and, yes, it is mental!
). I am both left and right brained, but my cortex is more dominant than my limbic system by far. The adjectives for left cerebral and right cerebral describe me better than left limbic and right limbic.
Wow, that looks even more pseudoscientific than the typical left-brain/right-brain stuff, and that's saying something. ![]()

I am Left Limbic and Cerebral and Right Cerebral dominant.
(In a Right/Left Brained Model I am a fair mixture of both, Left slightly dominant-- as it shows up also in this model).

That website's ideas on 'whole brain thinking' seem similar to Edward DeBono's six thinking hats model.
DeBono doesn't claim his model is scientific so much as common sense, though.
It seems like this cortex/ limbic system balance is a big factor in ASDs.
I have read elsewhere that autistics tend to have an overdeveloped cortex.
I really dislike this sort of personality diagraming though.
It is mildly insulting and ranks somwhere close to astrology in its utility.
Just my humble opinion.
It may seem a bit more a stretch, but it seems my accurate in my case at least. It explains why I'm both highly analytical and creative but not so much good at interpersonal stuff or lots of organizing.
I don't think it really explains why you're that way, it just creates a category of people who are that way, whether or not the explanation for the category's existence is real.

By the way, many big corporations use this. Heh, Ned Hermann worked as some kind of manager at General Electric while developing this theory. I didn't know managers actually did research!
He expressed his agreement with the prototypical Type A personality characteristics of the sales people at that meeting. They're very competitive, social, and a even a little superficial (they'll act friendly to make a deal). They also tended to score higher on right cerebral and right limbic skills than either of the sinister quadrants.
It is my opinion that the right cortical hemisphere is the fount of all evil, and people who are highly dominant in that area should be removed from society. You might think these right-brainers are great artists, athletes, and leaders; but you're missing another important correlation: Psychopaths are right brained, too!
I will have none of that trickery suggesting that, if more teachers taught using many different modes of presentation, these phenotypic psychopaths could avoid a life of crime and social alienation. Their genes doom them from the start!
Left brain be praised forever!
Erm, eek.
My right hemisphere is certainly dominant for motor skills, since I'm strongly left-handed, left-eyed, left-eared, left-footed, and so forth. I don't believe in the stereotypes of what cerebral dominance ends up meaning (I fit some and not others, but they themselves are not based in sound neuroscience), but nonetheless I certainly hope that you do not want to remove me from society for being right-hemisphere-dominant.
Lefties Unite! ...er...or something. ![]()

Hrm, I'm left handed, left eyed, and right footed. I have a balanced brain with slightly leftist leanings. What I am saying is remove the right-hemispheric NTs, not autistic people. By the way, it's not just a stereotype. It is well noted in clinical research that psychopaths score higher in performance IQ than verbal IQ. They also tend to have unusual brain lateralization: Language does not develop in the same spot in the brain; it tends to develop in both the left and right cortices. In particular, the part that processes the emotional meaning of language activates a different part of the brain, showing psychopaths use extra intellectual processing to understand the emotional content of language.
Uh... lots of autistic people have higher performance than verbal IQ (which in itself does not mean anything about cerebral dominance, only poor verbal skills or really good "performance" skills or a combination of both).
And advocating for eliminating any group of people from the planet... ugh. Hasn't that been tried already? ![]()

I have to speak up here. So, are you saying that autistics should have special allowances and reprives from the thought police that you would otherwise enact to exile right-brained people from society, or is it just any group that you, an obvious non-sociopath, belong to, that should be exempt from this proposed solution to a better society?
And advocating for eliminating any group of people from the planet... ugh. Hasn't that been tried already?
A thousand pieces of applause for pointing out that last sentiemnt there.

Sounds like I'm right cerebral and left limbic by that standard.
On the other hand though, I think my biggest areas of strenghth are in the rear - most of the IQ tests I take place me as a visual mathematician or say that my thinking is more arithmetic/logical.
Something else about intelligence though, I was reading a book for aspies in the workforce and in teh list of intelligence types the author listed, he mentioned "intrapersonal" intelligence and how people with high intrapersonal intelligence covet and prize their alone time - lol, sounds like me all too often...

I have no idea what you might be talking about.
