I refused to take anything before when people said maybe it would help me, because I thought it would impair my ability to figure out my problems that were making me depressed in the first place, and I also thought it would compromise my survival instinct. Also, since I wasn't doing much, I thought it was insulting for people to say I may need something to function instead of just being able to do it myself without being told what to do, or being medicated into just being normal.

(Now I need an antidepressant and I take it. :) I knew I needed something, I was understimmed, and by then I understood that it would help my understimulation by stimulating me.)

I'm afraid that it'll screw with my head. Maybe I'll abandon my interests or turn into an a**hole or something. I don't want to know. :?

I hate seeing doctors and I hate the idea of having to take medication - even when it's necessary.

I only take natural medications. The side effects of 'modern' drugs are always worse then the thing they are trying to cure.

My doctors are so quick to want to hand out antt-depressants that you have to take daily, like it's candy. I get depressed because my anxiety holds me back so I want Xanax once in awhile. Sometimes it's enough to know that the Xanax is there so I don't take it.

I ask the doctors, how can I know if I'm doing better with my temperament if I'm taking a drug everyday? They have no answers for that question but it was sure hard to get them to finally agree that an occasional Xanax is good enough for me,

When it comes to my Aspergers I am dead against medication, because I don't need it. I'm me, and I have accepted myself as me.

If anyone needs medication it's those who deny me that right by whatever means "neccessary" (such as lying to others in order to have me kicked out of certain places - not on the Internet I would point out).

the only real med treatment i had for my AS was when i was really young, and everyone thought i was just a depressed toddler, they put me full of happy pills, wich ironicly made me depressed. and ive been to group therapy with people from all over the autism spectrum after the diagnosis. group therapy wasn't super helpfull it only made me realise there are people like me and we should be helping ourselves not let a guy in a white coat decide what we should do.

'so i'm not taking any treatment because i think that only people that are like me, or people that like me (friends/family) are able to understand how i live. while doctos pretend that we suffer from a horrible mental disease. the people that i know just know me as the weird but funny guy that makes awesome jokes, and has a creative mind, they don't see me as some deranged person who needs the treatment, so because of my own realisations and the help of people i hold dear i don't need any white coats around me

No one's ever offered me any drugs, bar a limited 6 mth run of anti-depressants. Was told then it would be limited.
I'm pretty happy that way. DOn't wanna be on stuff for life.

I took drugs when i was ages 11-14, turned me into a monster, so i was like after that NO more drugs for me, hell no i wont go haha. Two years ago though i did take a muscle relaxer, that also turned me into a monster. So I refuse any type of drugs, even tylenol, or advil gets me crazy.
