There are pictures I would like to have for my avie, but it sure wants them to be quite tiny. 16KB? Most of the images I have are way larger the just 16, and the width and hight.... Besides the size, I have a picture of my sister's smart dog as a pup, two characters I once played on WoW, which I stupidly deleted, amung others. Not sure how to go about putting in the avatar, given the rule it has posted in my edit option.

If you still play, and they were high level, you can probably get them back. :)
Just ask a GM.

make a smaller version of the picture you want and then upload that.

Things to try.

1. Make your picture the correct dimensions for the site.

2. Convert it to a 256 color .GIF File - that's a lot smaller than a 16 Million Color JPEG
In large photos, you'll notice a quality drop, but not in one the size of an Avatar.

3. If that doesn't work, try reducing the colours further.
Mine is a fairly large avatar. I reduced it to about 150 colours and cropped the sides a little.

4. Avoid Animated GIFs, they chew up a lot more memory and several members block them anyway (so won't see them).

If all else fails, post the avatar as a picture and ask someone on WP to convert it for you.

Well, I tried this bloodelf for an avatar and she looks... (update and personal edit) ok, this time she's at least visable, unlike he other one. Few.. Makeing an avie can be a pain in the butt! On the plus side, she looks just as evil as I like her to look.
