I remember in preschool and kindergarden I was reading advanced material, and helping my peers learn to read. Even teaching them how to write. I'm in 9th grade now and kids are making fun of me because of my social problems. Yet, I still have an IQ of 142 - They think I'm stupid. Not like dumb, ret*d. I'm woundering why, and if anyone else gets this reaction.

they're confusing emotional quotient with intellectual quotient. Everybody at that age is trying to figure out how to act, so they're looking for anyone that is 'inferior' to them, and land on them with both feet. I remember....

I have around the same IQ as you and was in the similar situation. I could read when I was 2, write when I was 3 ish maybe 4, but I couldn't speak until I was four. I get called "special ed" (even though Im not in ANY special ed classes) because Im hyperactive.

I think they mean ret*d as in "socially ret*d." Have you ever heard the term "social tart"?

Because social skills are more important in our society than brain power. That is the reality. They are really saying that you are SOCIALLY ret*d.

yeah, they are really cruel to us social ret*ds. That is why NT parents are so gung ho to teach us social skills because THEY know how social ret*ds are treated.

Personally, although I LIKE Data fron StarTrek The Next Generation, Pinnochio morphing from a puppet into a 'real' boy and old Edward Sissorhands was cool, I am not interested in 'becoming a human' by wanting to be like those who would be really cruel to social ret*ds.

Not just social, any of them & you get this treatment. Mostly you find social is not as important as been able to do the job in the first place, would a custom be more ***** at having to come to customer service coz they need to coz your business suck, or would the customer be more happy with someone who can do they job & they don't have to come to customer service in the first place.

Just society with more bad ideas that they think is good, they already screwed up on apprenticeship in this country, now they is a shortage & they reintroducing it, & I bet numeracy & literacy will be evaluated again, as people with them problems only can’t do the maths in they head, they use a maths or spelling machine, but you can't use it on these tests, but they problem solving skills & attention to detail are normally higher so on, none of this is good idea’s because people are blind to what IQ is.

In reality it’s just society coming up with more bad ideas that they think are good. Anyway people who spell check people’s books before publishing would lose they jobs.


One thing I hate about them test’s is they have a nerve to stick in the dyslexic word in the pick one of the 3 that is correct, hell if that is to make someone like me go head spinning thinking if the dyslexic way is right or the correct way, in the end I have to go and refined out how to spell it...*

Well, with me they didn't dare think I was ret*d. I acted somewhat normal, often got better grades than they did, and clearly knew something. They WOULD sometimes try to play jokes though.

They do this for 2 reasons. 1 is to try to annoy you because they find it fun. The other is like pakled, so they can feel better about themselves. Basically, they are trying to lower everyone else, so THEY that they are the best.

Social is no matter who you are, how good, three normal people can mob you, so they are better.

Avoid them.

I was academically advanced, but socially behind, throughout most of my life.

yeah? well, I got along pretty well by using my behind socially until my looks and body faded.
( it might be amusingly phrased, but it was no joke!)

People have equated introversion and social difficulties as evidence of lack of intelligence for ages. The word "idiot" comes from a Greek pejorative term for people who didn't like socializing.

I guess Im an idiot... In the archaic sense of the word.

dont worry about it.

10 years from now, as you show them your paycheck with more digits than theirs.. you can call them economically ret*d.

They can tease you only during school... you can tease them for the rest of your life.

I've gotten this quite a bit. But I just say "I'm a lot smarter than you, so if I'm ret*d, what does that make you?" That gets them to shut up, or else question my intelligence. But most of the time, if they know me well, they realize it and shut up.
