I think that is an ability everyone has. But this WAS one of my interests when I was little. If I concentrated very hard, the odds that something would happen would increase, etc... ALSO, I could get an idea of what the other person was going to say, sometimes word for word. It wasn't easy though, and eventually I got bad headaches just trying. It wasn't like I could always do it. I never knew ANYONE to be able to reliably do it. Wouldn't it be nice if you could always see how people would percieve a stock? Sometimes berkshire hathaway moves over $400 in one DAY.
FRANKLY, there are two FAR more likely possibilities:
1. You or they got a subconcious feeling mentally that caused one of you to remember the subject.
2. You or they got a subconcious feeling due to an external stimulus that caused you to BOTH consider the subject.
Most of the people that "read minds" have just trained themselves extensively in noticing facial and bodily reactions. The eyes can tell a lot in a person.
The guy I posted about earlier, he would have you hold a book or to think of a word and he would spell it out for you. His explanation was that subtle movements in eyes, face, body, reveals what the person was thinking. Obviously it does not work on everyone.
