I was wondering where I could get some freeware that would check downloads for viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, and other kinds of malware. Basically, I want a program that will check the program while downlaoding it and before installing it. Any advice would be appreciated.

have you tried Avast antivirus, they have a free version, its caught a few virus file while downloading off of pirate bay, for any adware, I would use Spybot which is also free, it includes a program called Tea Timer, which prevents adware from trying to install

Avast http://www.avast.com/eng/download.html
Spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
