I don't know what your son is like, but I went through a normal school, etc.... and I think I could pass for normal. It is rare anyone singles me out as different... In school I WAS bullied, but did VERY well early on, and ok later. I have a good career I have worked at for almost 3 decades, and make well over the average income. I say that not to brag, but because....
I cover my ears with loud noises and some frequencies. And I can't catch a ball. I don't know what you mean by social boundaries, but I tend to try to keep people at arms length. I remember it took me a while to learn to ride a bike, but I do so fine now.
I guess I am just saying you can be different without having to suffer.
