Does there ever come time when you make eye contact?

There comes times when I do. It happens when I feel comfortable with someone, when I want to look at their pretty faces so it makes me want to look at their face, if they have something interesting on their face like a mole or something it also makes me look at their face at that thing. Then other times it's just automatic so I figure it must be that way with non aspies and auties.

I can maintain eye contact at will but it doesn't come natural to me and I sometimes forget to. I usually only bother if it's someone I trust or if someone is saying something I need to pay attention to.

I will be forced to look at someone's face when I am trying to hear what they are saying because the room is so loud or they are talking too softly or quietly. But I am looking at their mouths instead. That's not true eye contact.

Sometimes I look at their noses or foreheads. I have also looked at their mouths, specifically their teeth. When I do look at their eyes, I tend to only look at one.

Can´t make eye contact, but when the time comes to see near the eyes , i just watch their mouth moving as they speak, try it. :)

One thing about eye contact is that it's a way that NTs tell if you're serious, whether they realize that or not. If you're trying to say something important to an NT and they don't seem to be taking you seriously, look them right in the eye and say it, 9 out of 10 times they'll get it.

Very rarely.
It's ok with girlfriends, but never with strangers. I always had the feeling, that it makes the NTs even more uncomfortable than me, maybe because I do it wrong, a moment too long or whatever.

Its never felt right with anyone, I can pretend but find I just stare and if they look back usually quickly look away...

Even with very close friends, can do and thought I could but thinking about recently realized its just an uncombable stare, never really directly in the other persons eyes... even with my husband, the best I can usually do is a quick glance... 8O no deep stuff!

Not naturally.

I've trained and have recently been told that I do it really good already. Not that I know what I dislike about eyes, it takes no effort to keep eye-contact. But it's hard to remember to look at someone's eyes and not the wall, or their hands or their hair. And I do think I have an issue with staring now. I never know how long to look in someone's eyes. I happen to forget that I can't stare into someone's eyes for minutes either.

So, really, there's nothing natural about my eye-contact.

I didn't look into my family's eyes or the eyes of my friends before either.

Zero eye-contact prior to the diagnosis.

Not well. I get all worked up inside my head over it and can't figure out what's appropriate length of time to stare at their eyes and then I look between their eyes and in each eye and finally just wanna scream, "I can hear you, I just can't focus if I'm making eye contact!! !"
