Hello everyone. I am HoxtonPaul, but you may know me as the man who was published in the Guardian Weekend Magazine England, 1st of October, talking about being an Aspie.
Well, I live in London and I had a meeting with the lady who facilitates social groups for the National Autistic Society, yesterday. I am going to become a volunteer and help facilitate and co ordinate Aspie/Autie social groups. Yes, and me with a diagnosis. I'm funny like that.
I already teach Buddhist Meditation in the North London Buddhist Centre on a Friday night at 7:45, so if anyones around, come on over. No preachin' of the Dharma involved. No religion, just the practices to do us all good.
I have been with this particular Buddhist Movement for 12 years now, and have been on lots of 2 week retreats. You get to spend a week in silence, that sort of thing. Great.
I am 41, single, and would preferr an Aspie partner only. Being old fashioned, I like girls. I am developing a social perspective for our kind, Aspie Pride and Identity, and the NAS are looking into how they can help me set a support group RUN BY AND FOR NOTHING BUT HIGH FUNCTIONING ASPIES. A more sensitive and aware group than can be usually achieved. No disrespect to the good work Autism London does, its just that it can get a bit boisterous, and people agree with me that a more sedate and sophisticated group would be good.
I have done lots of things with my life that Aspie's are not supposed to, and even got kicked out of Drama School years ago. Insensitivity, couldnt relate...
Cheers, Brothers and Sisters.
