Yeah sometimes. I carry mine in my back pocket, so usually I can just touch it and see if it's actually ringing.
And just as often, I miss it when it's really ringing.

I hear cell phones ringing (sometimes phantom, sometimes not) too! Usually, they belong to other people though....mine has such distinctive rings, I know it's not mine!

Mine will do that too, it always happens when I am driving truck, my phone is also set on vibrate, so I know its ringing but when I answer no one is there.

Yeah, I get that...i once heard my phone ring three times while driving, it was on the back seat...but when I arrived and checked it, there were no missed calls... It's really annoying! Quite often I will think I hear it ring but it's not. Doesn't happen with text though, I suppose because it's not an electronic beepy-type? Seems to make a difference...

It seemed to happen more with my last phone, i dunno if it's maybe the different tone of it? The ringtone that I have is the same one carried over, but as it's MIDI it sounds a bit different.

The damn things drive me crazy :wall:

Quite mad, actually...

I am always hearing them and worse a lot of modern music uses ringtones within it as samples.

Ha HA Ha Ha

My phone doesn't vibrate..it is one of those "Cheaper" Cricket phones where you get a choice of about 36 different rings.
I have had this problem with other phones in the past, but this one is particularly bad...
I have tried to curtail it from happening by frequently changing the ring...but then I could never hear it...so I switched it back to the only ring I half enjoy...

After posting this thread, I heard my phone ring from where it was plugged in under the bed...just very faintly....

I will hear it ring inside my backpack while I am riding my bike....

I heard it ring in my purse on the bus.....always when it is out of sight.. :?

Though speak of the devil, i just hear it sounding like it was in the distance when I have the thing right in front of me....

I just wonder what the scientific explanation for it is.... :?

I kind of experience that. My phone is on vibrate, but it's a loud vibrate so i can easily hear it. Yeah sometimes when I'm focused on something else I think I hear it... but not really. I tend to keep it faced towards me wherever I leave it in my room so I can just look at and see if it lights up if someone is calling without to get up and check it out of paranoia.
