This is what Sean said in the "Natural Selection" thread.

If you find this an unacceptable comment to make on a board where vulnerable people come for support, please vote.

If more than 50% think Sean should be made to remove this comment, I hope the Mods will make him do it.

If less than 50% think this, I will not bring this topic up again.

I'm not exacty sure of his meaning out of context. This is in the Politics and Philsophy section I assume?

However repellent his comments may be, they don't break any site rules.

I knew so many people like this at school,,, people who always needed something to protest against, always trying to find something to get politically het up about. Usaully wearing a smelly old Che Guavera T shirt every day and with Dreadlocks. And which band is it that made you like it...RATM or the Manics? It was always one of the two.

While I can't agree with Sean's sense of humor, I don't mind his posts, because he at least ensures that it looks like its supposed to be humorous. Generally they are accompanied by lots of smilies etc. Like his post about abortions on EU politicians; they can be in bad taste, but eh, that's just Sean for you. So I don't mind if the above comment stays.

You have remember that we all have different ways to see things our views are Ours alone. I think Sean views on this subject is maybe QUESTIONABLE at BEST they are HIS VIEWS. I see NOTHING WRONG with THEM. Myself I might have said it DIFFERENTLY.

No. It was extremely insensetive, but he still has a right to say it. Besides which, its not the only insensetive comment he's made, and if everything he says was removed, then the rest of us hating him mite be seen as a bit unfair, so if for no other reason, then it should be kept to justify our sentiment towards him.

Low-Functioning Autistics are stupid (which is not an insult, it's just a fact) and without social security advances could still be killed off or institutionalised like they were in tribal and old times. By denouncing both stupid people and social services he has essentially put forward an argument that could be used to deny Autistic people rights.

It's not against the site's rules because he hasn't attacked or ridiculed anyone personally here but he has said something morally reprehensible.

Oh you think evrything he says is a joke? Mabey... Hadnt occured to me.

I woodnt actaully put that beyond Sean. We all know theres a lot of other minority groups hed like to deny rights.

I would like to say, though, that I personally have made use of Social Services for a fair number of years. I also know how much work Social Workers put out and for so little money.

I would like to know exactly what Sean is advocating. "Put them out of their misery?" This would be the insinuation of Natural Selection-- or at least in it's most extreme form.

What exactly, Sean, are you advocating?

While this may have been insensitive, I don't think it should be up to other members to publically talk about this. RobertN, if you have a problem with Sean's posts (if you consider them offensive), please tell the mods privately. Personally, I don't care if you and Sean don't get along, but that's between the two of you. No one else needs to get involved, especially if they aren't moderators.

By the way, I hope you aren't doing this because of the referendum that you posted on the other thread. Because if you are, that doesn't seem very cool.
