Aspie VS Aspergian (which do you prefer)

I personally hate the term aspergian, it feels bad in my mouth,

neither, i define me, I have Asperger's, but i am neither f them, I am...all of me.

I say th same about 'Aspie' - I dislike the sound of it when spoken, sounds like 'Ass-pee'

An High Functioning Autist is what I am.

Aspie, Aspergian, Pdd-Nos, Tourettes, Classical, Kanner, Rett, Ad(h)d, other tags.

Autism.

We talk, read and write, a bit odd at times, maybe but look who is talking, judgemental one.

Don't care, no more, what you think, if you don't respect me for what I am, tjah,... bye then.

There are no lines in the spectrum, your on it or you don't,... and you know best. Being on it makes me the same as the classic one. In my mind it does.

Autism.

One can grow and move up and one can learn to know oneself and speak freely without shame of who you are.

Take it or leave it, I say.

I prefer the term Aspie.

Ditto... but do feel maybe need new word for aspie / autie.... aspaut 8O but really we are all one group... and some of us start out as auties and end up aspies, or depends who assesses, do not feel should be any division _ I have bits of both, but find saying aspie easier...

Maybe a name name for us all apart from Aspergian, need a short version of this maybe

Ah but a rose by any other name would smell as sweet! Even if you were to change the name, the symptoms don't change! I rather like the sound of Aspergian. Sounds almost regal!

'Aspergian' makes me think of vegetarian. Yeah, I'm aspergerian...I only eat aspies. I would just go with autistic but now I'm all twisted up by the thread about how Asperger's and autism are two separate things. I used to just say I'm 'weird'. I think I like that one best of all.

Me too and, I think they are not separate. When you are an Asperger, truely, you are autistic. Sorry guys and I'm the one not even off. diagnosed.

I read it and wondered. Some say Asperger isn't autism. What the f**k. Some say Asperger is a mild form of autism, that's a load of sheit too. Pervasive is the opposit of mildness. And to say such a thing proves you're ignorant. Or a follower. Or an arbitrary shrink acting know it all.

"Aspie" is a bit too diminutive-sounding for me, but "Aspergian" is less well-known and always makes me think "aspersion." Overall, I prefer "Aspie."

I prefer "aspie" and pronounce that "ass bee".

I like aspie - there's a bit of a cutism about it while Aspergian sounds too erm... tertiary?

I prefer to call it what it is: Asperger's Disorder/Syndrome (I like the former), or my personal favourite from the man himself, Autistic Psychopathy.

I like anything that is short, so I prefer aspie and autie especially when writing. I can't think of anything worse than those poor souls with Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. Too damn LONG!
