If you have a high autistic trait score (mine is 25) but below that needed to be classified as As can you be autistic?

I have the following traits:
I sometimes have the inability to detect subtle clues from someone's conversation/motive when other people think they were obvious.
I have a problem detecting certain microexpressions (anger and disguist).
I am below average when it comes to detecting emotion when looking at just the eye area but not the face (that is average)
I sometimes talk to people and they laugh at the way I am with them because I appear awkard
I have problems in interviews knowing what I am actually being asked, ok that is partly to do with nerves because I generally know afterwards. However sometimes I have no clue and I ask other people and they seem to know.
I work social problems out analytically rather than taking recourse to emotions like 'normal' people.
I have a problem with pretending that I have the same interests just so I can get along with people
I feel more comfortable discussing philosophy or any thing with a theoretical bent than I do discussing myself or things to do with the more feeling side of things.

One of the problems with diagnosis is my mother does not like the idea that I might be autistic. Any feedback?

I have no idea what the scores really mean and I did have to really think about some of the questions asked.

well it makes sense as I had a higher AQ than average. I suppose that explains why I have some problems communicating with NTs. Thanks that was interesting.

but i dont understand the picture thingie

The picture shows how strong you are in each of the areas (closer to the edge = stronger). The left hand side is NT traits and the right hand side is AS. If you don't understand what any of the words on it mean (I remember being confused about the hunting one) I find looking at the full PDF file to see what questions relate to that area useful for decoding it

Do you want a self-diagnoses or an official diagnoses? If you really want to know, it would be best to find a doctor who speacilizes in Asperger's.

i am hoping to get a diagnosis very soon
i have asked the doctor for it
but have to see if they will fund it
the nhs sucks now a days

but from early childhood this keeps popping up
and going to the hospital in london recently for adhd has brought alll the same questions up again
so now i think i should get tested for real and not just suspect it
