Dancing etiquitte??
Ok so I have a best friend who's a bit funny herself, so she's always pretty much accepted me and has remained a friend for many years.
But once she took me to a dance club and since I love to dance A LOT, I started dancing all crazy and having loads of fun.
So then she pulled me aside and said I was making a scene (and probably embarrassing her) and that "that's not how you're supposed to dance here"
I was shocked and hurt and mad... so I went on the stage and started dancing even crazier.. just to show her that she can't control the way I dance and that I'll dance the way I dance because this is me!! !
I'm glad I was myself that night and didn't let anyone tell me to not be myself, but did I do the right thing? I know I embarrassed her, so maybe I should have just complied..
It's just I was so unaware that my dancing was 'a problem' and I was having so much fun, that it completely took me off guard /shocked me / hurt me when she told me that.

If you are having a good time and not disturbing anyone around you.. than who cares? Dance how you want. Just tell your friend. "I really don't care how you are suppose to dance, this is the way I dance and I'm having fun." If it bothers her that much than tell her to scram or something or else go without her.
