Getting all stressed out when lot of things go on
So I had to do something for my mother. I have to send a deposit check to someone named Laurie for catering for my wedding. I had to go to my aunt's and uncle's house so I can print off the order forum and I wasn't sure if I had to sign it only and date it so I try to call her yesterday but she never answers the phone. The first time she did when I called and she emailed me the forum. So today I try again and there is no answer so I had to call my mother on her cell phone waking her up because she works nights.
She told me two days ago it needs to be done now or else we'll lose her because someone might decide to use he for June 20th and she won't be avaliable anymore so it had to be done now. I just couldn't wait to keep trying to get hold of her because it had to be done NOW. I just hate having pressure on me because it stresses me out so I was yelling at my boyfriend when I didn't put a name on the check I was making it out to because I didn't know who to make it out to. I didn't want to put down the wrong name. I did sign the check and put down the total on it and put it in the envelope. I told my boyfriend I can't wait anymore and will not put down the wrong name and if she can't answer her f*****g phone, f**k it, she can call me if the deposit amount is wrong. Then he was staring at me and I told him "don't look at me."
I can be a b***h when I'm stressed out and I want to be left alone. When things need to be done NOW, it puts so much pressure on me and I do not have patience. I'm not sure if it was a meltdown I just had. I was just screaming at my boyfriend and snapping at my mother on the phone and then I wanted to be left alone after I was done putting the check and forum in the envelope and sealing it.
I think this happens to everybody because I have seen my parents getting all stressed out when they need to get things done NOW such as taxes or bills and they don't want to be bothered and want to be left alone. Especially when my dad is trying to get his appraisal work done. They both yell too when you bother them.
I tend to believe that this sort of "coping" is an autistic trait that can be LEARNED by those who surround us. For instance, one of your parents is on the spectrum, no matter what they think or say. They may be more mild than you, but that also comes with age. But as I was saying, One of them does this more than the other and the other just learned to cope the same way. Then it was passed down to you, not only through autistic genes(or however its passed), but by experiencing their usage of the same coping technique when you were littler.
You could call this incident a MINOR meltdown. Realize tho, its also the process of getting married that puts stress on EVERYONE. Women want the perfect wedding and men want to make sure "she" gets what she wants. When obstacles arise, all hell breaks loose.
The only kind of advice I can give(seeing as Im not married, nor getting married anytime soon), is to take a DEEP breath. Not just a "fine Im breathing deeper" type of breath, but one that SLOWLY fills your lungs as completely as possible. Hold it for a couple seconds and slowly let it out. You will notice your mind will slow down a tad bit and be able to function more "normally" instead of as stressed as you were. If that doesnt work, just dont hit anyone! Good luck with your wedding, hope it all works out in the end.
I wouldn't mind getting married if I didn't have to go to the wedding. I would be more into eloping. Weddings are unnecessary stress makers.

I don't think this has anything to do with autism, to be honest. Everyone gets stressed out when they're under pressure, especially planning something like a wedding, and it is REALLY annoying when you're relying on being able to get someone on the phone and you can't.
If you're not already doing this, it might be worth getting a diary just for the wedding plans. Sit down with your mother, and everyone else who's involved, and write all the deadlines in the diary. For each deadline, write a reminder in the diary a week or 10 days in advance. That gives you time to make phone calls, get the paperwork sorted out and so on.
And congratulations! ![]()
