I will be going to Boston next Monday and will be there for for about 6 weeks. During that time I would like very much to meet others who are Aspies. I have checked the internet and found meetings in Worcester which is pretty far to travel since I don't drive.

Can anyone help me?

I actually am a bit scared (usually not the correct word) to do this, but I feel it's something I should be doing. Meeting new people is something that I find to be a bit intimidating. I do better with dogs than people.

Thanks everybody.

I'm from Boston. I'm an aspie. And my dad is an aspie. My dad does not know he is an aspie, he is denial and not ready to learn. But you can meet with us and also this lady KaliMA who is coming to Brookline Library on Sunday.

Worcester is only a train ride away from Boston.

I live about halfway between the two, so I'd still have to travel an hour or so to go to either city.

Well, I'm sure I'm an aspie also. I HAVE met kalima, but wouldn't mind seeing her again. Is the Brookline Library a good one? I might come.

Check out AANE, the Asperger's Association of New England. They are located in Watertown, which is just outside Boston. They have a lot of things going on there, it's probably the most prominent AS organization in New England.

I am not too excited about coming out as an AS adult. It would be a nightmare if one of my professors or my manager found out. Mine's obvious, but if people do not see it as a disorder, they are more accepting of it. I will take the train to AANE game night or whatever tomorrow night and take a look around. I RSVPed the guy, Max?, I think. I might buy their online membership tomorrow and then go to the young adult support group in April. Will let you know how it goes.

I tried going there. The area had a LOT of traffic, and an IDIOT setup the streets. I ended up having my first car accident in a rental car. 8-(

It WAS a little nice, and something to do, but not worth the cost.($500 deductible)

It would be a 2-4 hour drive for me from NH lol, I don't know if it's worth the trip for me.. I do go to Fitchburg once in a while, and it's like an hour from there..

Got this email regarding tonight's game night at the asperger's center.

"Good Day,

Coming to tonight's program would be completely appropriate. If you
wanted to come in a few minutes before I would be happy to speak with
you and answer any questions you may have.

Max
Coordinator of Adult Services
Asperger's Association of New England"

I'll go check it out tonight at 6. "Game night" sounds lame, but it might be fun to meet people.
